定语从句详解:
一． 定语从句基础要点：
1. 什么是定语从句？2.什么是先行词、关系词？3.如何选择关系词:
关系代词：
who 先行词是人并且在从句中做主语和宾语；
whom先行词是人并且在从句中做宾语；
that先行词是人或物并且在从句中做主语、表语和宾语；
which 先行词是物并且在从句中做主语和宾语;
whose先行词是人或物并且在从句中做定语；
关系副词：
when先行词是时间并且在从句中做时间状语；
where先行词是地点并且在从句中做地点状语；
why 先行词是原因并且在从句中做原因状语；
二．定语从句常考要点：
I.指物时只用that 或which 的情况
只用that：1:先行词是everything, nothing, anything, something, much, little, none等不定代词
或由不定代词any, some, no, much, few, little, every, all等修饰时, 引导定语从句用that不用
which。
2：先行词被形容词最高级或序数词修饰且指物时, 引导定语从句用that 。
3: 先行词中既有人又有事物时，引导定语从句用that 。
4:先行词被the very, the only,the last等修饰且指物时,引导定语从句用that。
5：当先行词前面有whowhich等疑问代词时，只用that。
只用which的情况:1,逗号后面 2,介词后面
II.介词+关系代词
提醒: 介词﹢关系代词引导的定语从句, 关键是判断介词的选择.
方法一:根据从句中动词或形容词与先行词习惯搭配
方法二:根据从句中动词与先行词的逻辑关系
注意：关系代词在定语从句中作介词宾语时，从 句常常由“介词+关系代词”引出。此时关
系代词只能用which 或 whom; 不可用that 或who 代替
但遇到固定词组时，介词一般紧跟词组主体，不作前置 。
用法及转换形式
1. whose引导定语从句，其后应紧跟名词，构成名词短语。
That’s the child whose father is a teacher.
引导定语从句，其先行词不仅可以指人，还可以指物。
3. whose的先行词指物时, 可用of which代替,
但词序不同，
即whose+名词=the +n + of which=of which + the + n.
与which的区别
两者均可引导非限制性定语从句，有时可以互换，但下列情况多用as。
1. 当与such、so、as、the same连用时，一般用as。
e.g. Such books as you tell me are interesting.
I have the same plan as you.
2. as 引导的从句可以放在句首, as 本身有“正如?..正象?”之意，。
e.g. As we all know, the earth is round.

as常用于以下固定搭配中： as is often the case (这是常有的事); as we expected (不出所料); as
often happens (正如经常发生的那样); as is known to all (众所周知); as has been said before (如
上所述); as is mentioned above (正如上面所提到的)。
V.指人时that 与who的区别
在anyone, those, hesheI they作先行词时, 用”who” 代替 “that”.
VI定语从句中的主谓一致问题
定语从句中的动词在人称和数方面应该与它的先行词保持一致。
1.I am not one who ______afraid of difficulty．

Ⅻ.先行词是几种特殊词时，关系词的选择。
1. 先行词是the way 时，在从句中做状语时关系词用：thatin which不填；在从句中做主
语或宾语时，关系词用thatwhich.
2. 先行词是occasion时，表示时机或时刻时，关系词用when;表示场合时用where.
3. 先行词是表示抽象地点的名词时（point,state,activity,situati on,case,job┄）时，在从句中
中作状语时，关系词用where;作主宾时用thatwh ich.

Ⅸ.如何判断用关系副词还是关系代词
选用定语从句的关系词时，需注意两点：
1.先行词2.关系词在从句中充当的成分。

解题思路:
1. 通读全句。首先判断是什么句型。
2. 题干句如果是疑问句式，将其转化为陈述句式。
3. 分析从句的句子结构，在定语从句中，缺什么， 就补什么：缺主语或宾语，用关系代词；
缺状语，用关系副词
4. 注意标点符号和题干中是否存在并列连词and, but等。
注意：先行词做宾语时，可以省略。
