1 )表语从句
1?定义:用作表语的从句叫做表语从句。
2?构成:关联词+简单句
3?引导表语从句的关联词的种类:
(1) 从属连词that.如:
The trouble is that I have lost his address.麻烦是我把他的地址丢了。
(2) 从属连词 whether, as,as if.如:
He looked just as he had looked ten years before.他看起来还与十年前一样。
The question is whether they will be able to help us.问题是他们是否能帮我们。
注:从属连词if 一般不用来引导表语从句,但

能跟表语从句的谓语动词一般为系动词 be, seem, look等。如:

(3) 连接代词 who, whom, whose, what,which, whoever,whatever,whichever 连接畐U词
where, when,how, why.
女口: The problem is who we can get to replace her.问题是我们能找到谁去替换她呢。
The question is how he did it.问题是他是如何做此事的。
That was what she did this morning on reaching the attic.那就是她今晨上了阁楼干的。
解释:
1连词because可引导表语从句。如:
I th ink it is because you are doi ng too much.我想这是因为你做得太多。

劝说、命令”的名词后面的表语从句中,谓语动词用虚拟语气。
表示,should可省略。如:

1. 定义:用作主语的从句叫做主语从句。
2. 构成:关联词+简单句
3. 引导主语从句的关联词有三类:
(1) 从属连词 that.女口: That they were in truth sisters was clear from the facial resemblanee between

(2) 从属连词 whether.如:
Whether he ' ll come here isn '他是否会来这里还不清楚。
(3) 连接代词 who,whom,whose,what,which,whoever,wha tever,whichever

What she did is not yet known.她干了什么尚不清楚。
How this happened is not clear to anyone.这事怎样发生的,谁也不清楚。
Whoever comes is welcome.不论谁来都欢迎。

解释:
1. 主语从句能用it作形式上的主语。常以it作形式主语的句型有:
A. lt+be+ 形容词(obvious,true,natural,surprising, good,wonderful,funny,possible,likely,
certain, probable, etc.) +that 从句。如:


It is certain that she will do well in her exam.毫无疑问她考试成绩会很好。
It is probable that he told her everything.很可能他把一切都告诉她了。
B. lt+be+ 名词词组(no wonder, an honor, a good thing , a pity, no surprise, etc.) +that 从句。如: It ' s
a pity that we can彳艮遗憾我们不能去。
It ' s no surprise that our team should have won the gam我们没赢这场比赛真意外。
C. lt+be+ 过去分词(said, reported, thought, expected, decided, announced, arranged, etc.)
+that 从句。如:
It is said that Mr. Green has arrived in Beijing.据说格林先生已经到了北京。
It is reported that China has sent ano ther man-made earth satellite into orbit. 据报道中国又成功地发射了一颗
人造地球卫星。
D. It+seem, happen等不及物动词及短语 +that从句。如:
It seems that Alice is not comi ng to the party at all. Alice 似乎不来参加晚会。
It happe ned that I was out that day.碰巧我那天外出了。
E. It+doesn ' t matte^makes no differenee,etc.)+连接代词或连接副词引起的主语从句。如:
It doesn ' tetter whether she will come or not.她是否来这无关紧要。
It makes no differenee where we shall have the meeting.我们在哪里开会毫无区另叽
F当that引导的主语从句出现在疑问句中时,要以 it作形式主语,而把主语从句后置。如:
Is it true that the scientist will give us a lecture next week? 下周那位科学家将给我们作报告是真的 吗?
Does it matter much that they will not come tomorrow ? 他们明天不来很要紧吗?
G.当主语从句出现在感叹句中时,要以 it作形式主语,而把主语从句后置。如:
How strange it is that the children are so quiet ! 孩子们这么安静真奇怪!
2. 注意连接代词 whoever,whatever,whichever等引导主语从句的含义。
Whoever comes will be welcome. (whoever=the person who ) 来的人将受至U欢迎。
Whatever he did was right. (whatever=the thing that)他所做的事情是正确的。
Whichever of you comes in will receive a prize. (whichever=anyone of you who )你们当中不论哪个进来 将会

3 )宾语从句
1定义:用作宾语的从句叫宾语从句。
2. 构成:关联词+简单句。
3. 引导宾语从句的关联词有三类:
(1) 从属连词that.如:
He told us that he felt ill.他对我们说他感到不舒服。
I kn ow he has returned.我知道他已经回来了。
注:that在引导宾语从句时也并不是任何情况下都可以省略。在以下情况下,
从句放在and的后面时,that不能省略。)

类型:(1)介词宾语从句
宾语从句也可用作介词的宾语。如:
He was deeply displeased by what had occurred that day.

I walked over to where she sat.我走向她坐的地方。
I am curious as to what he will say.我很想知道他要说什么。
Your success will largely depe nd upon what you do and how you do it.

有时介词可以省略。如:

4连词 whether (…or not)或if引导的宾语从句
if和whether引导的宾语从句可以互换使用, 但whether常和or not连用,if 一般不与or not连用。女口:

用if引导宾语从句如果会引起歧义,应避免使用
Please let me know if you want to go.
Please let me know whether you want to go.
if从句可理解为宾语从句,意为

5. 宾语从句的否定转移。在 think, believe, suppose, expect等动词后的宾语
请告诉我你是否想去”;此句又可理解为条件状语从句意为 如果你
if而用whether.试比较:

6. 宾语从句的时态变化规律:
(1) 当主句是一般现在时态时,从句可根据需要用任何时态。
(2) 当主句是一般过去时态时,从句只能使用过去范围内的任何时态。但客观真理除外。如:
The teacher said that the earth goes round the sun.
老师说地球绕着太阳运行。
4)同位语从句
1. 定义:用作同位语的从句叫做同位语从句。
2. 用法:同位语从句的先行词多为 fact, news,idea, thought,
question,reply, report, remark 等,
关联词多用从属连词 that .如:
They were all very much worried over the fact that you were sick.
对你生病这件事,他们都很焦虑。
Where did you get the idea that I could not come ?
你在哪儿听说我不能来?

定语从句:定语从句是由关系代词或关系副
其作用是作定语修饰主句的某个名词性 成
分,相当于形容词,所以又称为形容词性从句,一般紧跟在它所修饰的先行词后面。
2. 关系词:引导定语从句的关联词称为关系词, 关系词有关系代词和关系副词。 关系代词有that, which,

注:关系代词有主语.宾语之分。一般whom作为宾语。

一、 关系代词(在句中作主语、宾语或定语)

1. where是关系副词,用来表示地点的定语从句。
2. when引导定语从句表示时间[注]值得一提的是,表示时间“

在句1中,is后应跟表语,只有 the one可以,而后面的 you visited a few days ago则做one的定语从 句。

一、 as which”特殊定语从句的先行成分
1. 形容词或形容词短语作先行成分

具有形容词意义的介词短语也可以充当先行成分,如:

在一定的语言环境里,有些名词可以具有形容词的性质。这些名词主要是那些表示人的身份、职业、状
态的名词。值得一提的是,在这些具有形容词性质的名词之后,弓I导定语从句的关系代词不能用
whom.
2. 动词短语先行成分
这种动词短语既可是限定形式也可是非限定形式。如果是动态动词短语,它们在从句中就一般有限定或
非限定形式的替代动词 do和as which 一起代替。do可以出现,也可以不出现,但不能用其它动词代替。
3. 句子作先行成分
这句子可以是整个主句也可以只是主句中的一个从句。有时是连续几个句子,有时甚至可以是一个完整
的故事。
二、 aswhich ”特殊定语从句在句中的位置
由于先行成分的构成成分不同, aswhich ”特殊定语从句在句中的位置有以下几种情况:
1. 形容词做先行成分时:形容词或形容词短语(含具有形容词性质的名词)作先行成分,

殊定语从句置于先行成分之后。
2. 动词短语作先行成分时: 动词短语作先行成分时,“as which”特殊定语从句置于先行成分之后。
当从句中含有表示主观意志的插入成分时, “as”特殊定语从句可以移至句子之首。
3. 句子作先行成分时:“ as”特殊定语从句的位置较灵活,可以置于先行成分之前、之中或之后。但如果
先行成分是直接引语,“as”特殊定语从句多在先行成分之前。如果先行成分是否定句,
句与否定词的相对位置不同可以使它产生不同的意义。由于“

一般说来,as与which的语义功能相同,可以相互 替换。但先行成分为句子时,它们的语义功能则有差 异。

(十)关系代词that的用法
(1)不用that的情况

表示时间的状语从句可由 when, as, while, whenever, after, before, till (until), since, once, as soon as ( 或 the
moment), by the time, no sooner Than, hardly (scarcely) …when, every tim等引导。
E.g. When I came into the office, the teachers were having a meeting.
He started as soon as he received the n ews.
Once you see him, you will n ever forget him.
No sooner had I gone to bed tha n I went to sleep.

原因状语从句是表示原因或理由的,引导这类从句的最常用的连词是 然)

Whatever (= No matter what) you say, I ' ll never change my mind.
(八) 方式状语从句
方式状语从句常由 as, as if (though), the way, rather than 等引导。
E.g. you must do the exercise as I show you.
He acted as if nothing had happe ned.

比较状语从句常用 than, so (as) As

(十)使用状语从句时要注意的几个问题
1在时间和条件(有时也在方式、让步等)从句中,主句是一般将来时,从句通常用一般现在时表 示将来。
E.g. we' go outing if it doesn ' t rain tomorrow.
…the m?引导。
I ' II write to you as soon as I get to Shanghai.
2、 有些时间、地点、条件、方式或让步从句,如果从句的主语与主句主语一致
从句的谓语又包含动词 be,就可省略从句中的 主语+ be ”部分。
(或虽不一致,是it),
E.g. When (he was) still a boy of ten, he had to work day and ni ght.
If (you are) asked you may come in.
If (it is) necessary I ' ll explain to you again.
3、 注意区分不同从句:引导的是什么从句,不仅要根据连词,还要根据句子结构和句意来判别。以 where为
例,能引导多种从句。
E.g. you are to find it where you left it. (地点状语从句)
Tell me the address where he lives.(定语从句,句中有先行词)
I don ' t know where herae from.(宾语从句)
Where he has gone is not known yet.(主语从句)
This place is where they once hid.(表语从句)
