We Are The World ,We Are The Future
Someone said “we are reading the first verse of the first
chapter of a book, whose pages are infinite”. I dont know who
wrote these words, but Ive always liked them as a reminder that
the future can be anything we want it to be. We are all in the
position of the farmers. If we plant a good seed ,we reap a good
harvest. If we plant nothing at all, we harvest nothing at all.
We are young. “How to spend the youth?” It is a meaningful
question. To answer it, first I have to ask “what do you understand
by the word youth?” Youth is not a time of life, its a state of mind.

Its not a matter of rosy cheeks, red lips or supple knees. Its the
matter of the will. Its the freshneof the deep spring of life.
A poet said “To see a world in a grain of sand, and a heaven in
a wild flower, hold infinity in the palm of your hand, and eternity in
an hour. Several days ago, I had a chance to listen to a lecture. I
learnt a lot there. Id like to share it with all of you. Lets show our
right palms. We can see three lines that show how our
and life is. I have a short line of life.
What about yours? I wondered whether we could see our
future in this way. Well, lets make a fist. Where is our future?
Where is our love, career, and life? Tell , it is in our
hands. It is held in ourselves.
We all want the future to be better than the past. But the
future can go better itself. Dont cry because it is over, smile
because it happened. From the past, weve learnt that the life is
tough, but we are tougher. Weve learnt that we cant choose how
we feel, but we can choose what about it. Failure doesnt mean you
dont have it, it does mean you should do it in a different way.
Failure doesnt mean you should give up, it does mean you must try
harder.

As what I said at the beginning, “we are reading the first verse
of the first chapter of a book, whose pages are infinite”. The past
has gone. Nothing we do will change it. But the future is in front of
us. Believe that what we give to the world, the world will give to us.
And from today on, lets be the owners of ourselves, and speak out
“We are the world, we are the future.”

Nature is Our Mother:
Let me begin my speech with a replay of scenes familiar to
most, if not all, of those present here today.
take. take. take.. The relationship between a mother and a
child always seems to follow such a pattern. I know my mother is
always there for me, providing me with everything I need; from
food to clothing, from tuition to pocket money. I never thought
twice about all she did until one day she said,
Like a child endlessly asking, we humans, throughout history,
have been continually demanding what we desire from nature. We
enjoy the comfort and beauty of our furniture, yet we never bother
to think about the serious soil erosion caused by deforestation. We
take it for granted that we must warm ourselves in winter times,

yet we seldom realize the burning away of precious natural
appreciate all the prosperity from the development
of modern industry, yet few would give the slightest consideration
to the global air and water pollution caused by industrial wastes.
Our ruthless exploitation has permanently impaired our mother
we tragically learned from last summers floods. We cannot
continue our carelessness. Finally, standing here at the threshold of
the 21st century, we cannot help thinking of our posterity. Nature is
not only the mother of the present generation, but
also the mother of the generations to come. How severely our
descendents will criticize us if we leave them a barren and lifeless
mother? How much more they will appreciate us if we give them a
world of harmony to inherit? Let us start respecting and caring for
nature from now on. Let us start the campaign of creating a
mutually beneficial relationship between people and nature right
from this moment. With this new start, I firmly believe that our
children, and our childrens children will live in a brand new age of
green trees, clean air, crystal water, blue sky and an even more
promising world!

Stepping into the new century environment pollution has
become more serious than ever since. There are different kinds of
pollution. Such as water pollution air pollution and noise pollution
and so on. It seems that we live on a planet which is full of pollution.
where all these pollution comes from? To a large extend the
environmental destruction is the heavy price that we pay for the
rapid development of economy and the growing population. In
order to have more fuel people cut down trees and dig more corals.
But the growing needs for energy are hardly to meet. Countless
private cars on the street the gas stations are short of gasoline even
the government has raise the price so many times in order to
control the needs of gasoline but its still not working. Overusing the
natural resources has already affected the ecological balance.
However the factories still release the toxic air into the sky and the
polluted water into the rivers. People still lack of the conscious of
protecting the environment. I think its time for all of us to do
something.
