理想是人生的太阳，没有 阳光的普照、生命的作用，地球就会变
成石头。对人类来说，没有理想就等于没有灵魂。
俄国的文学家列夫-;托尔斯泰说过：“理想是指路明灯。没有理
想，就没有坚定的方向;没有方向，就 没有生活。”张闻天说过：生
活的理想，就是为了理想的生活。
英国心理学家和教育学家 佛来明曾说过：“人一旦失去理想，失
去了精神上的追求，人类就变得无知，社会也将会变得漆黑一团。 ”
因为理想是信念、信仰、道德、责任、风尚、习惯所形成的一种意识，
它直接支配着一个人实 践活动的方向和效果。
正如我国着名的诗人流沙河说的那样：
理想是石，敲出星星之火;
理想是火，点燃熄灭的灯;
理想是灯，照亮夜行的路;
理想是路，引你走到黎明。
世界上总有人抛弃了理想，

平凡的人因有理想而伟大;

We often hear people say,
encourage others, or to express their resolve. Believe in
yourself, no matter how many times you fail, you will keep
trying to reach your goal. In my opinion, the determination to
succeed is an important trait that everyone should have. So I
think we should never give up.
One reason is that if we give up too easily, we can hardly
do anything. It is not unusual for us to fail in our first
attempt at something new, so we should not feel discouraged and
should try again. Besides, if we always give up when we fail,
we can't develop new skills and grow up. Another reason we
should never give up is that we can learn from our mistakes only
if we work hard again. If we do not try again, the lesson we
have learned is wasted. Finally, we should never give up because
when we work hard to achieve our goals, we develop confidence,
and this confidence will help us succeed in other areas of our
lives. If we don't challenge ourselves, we will begin to doubt
our abilities.

In short, it is important that we never give up when we try
our best to achieve our goal. Whether we succeed in the end or
not, we will learn something, and what we learn will make us
a better and more confident person. Furthermore, if we give up,
we will have no chance to reach the goal. But if we keep trying,
one day we will have a chance to succeed.
我们常听到人们说：“永远不要放弃。”这句话可能是要鼓励别
人，也 可能是表示自己的决心。相信自己的人，不管经历多少次失败，
都会不断试着要达到目标。我认为，有成 功的决心是每个人都应该有
的重要特质。因此，我认为我们应该永不放弃。
其中一个理由 是，如果我们太轻易放弃，就几乎无法完成任何事。
我们第一次尝试新事物会失败，这是很平常的事，所 以我们不应感到
气馁，而应该要再试一次。而且，如果我们总是一失败就放弃，就无
法培养新技 能并且不断地成长。我们应该永不放弃的另一个原因是，
只有再努力一次才能从错误中学习。如果我们不 再试一次，那么我们
所学到的教训就白白浪费了。最后，我们应该永不放弃，因为当我们
努力达 到目标的时候，我们就会培养出自信，而这种自信将有助于我
们在生活的其他领域中获得成功。如果我们 不挑战自我，我们就会开
始怀疑自己的能力。
简言之，当我们努力追求目标时，永不放弃 是很重要的。不管最
后有没有成功，我们都会学到一些东西，而我们所学到的东西，将会
使自己 成为一个更好、更有自信的人。而且，如果放弃的话，我们就

没有机会达到目标。但是如果能不断地尝试，总有一天我们一定会有
机会成功的。
