四级作文的命题形式和基本要求
四级考试作文的目的旨在考核学生英语书面表达的能力。作文考试 时间为30分钟，要求写出不少于120个词的短文。对作文
的要求是：切题，文理通顺，表达正确，意 思连贯，无重大语言错误。考试的作文内容为社会、文化或日常生活的一般常识，不
涉及知识面过广、专 业性太强的内容。
四级考试是一项大规模的考试，为提高其客观性，以利评分，作文考采用以下几种命题形式：
（一） 提纲作文（outline composition）
这类题型是四级作文考试到目前 为止最常见的。它给出作文的英文题目以及较为详细的提纲，提纲有时是英文的，但大多数
时候是用中文 给出的。每段的提纲规定了各段的主旨，要求考生围绕这个中心制定主题句，再顺着主题句展开段落，最后用一句
总结句回应主题。
例如下面的考题实例：

（二） 图表作文（graph composition）
图表作文是四级作文考 试常考题型之一，也是考生觉得较难对付的作文形式。图表作文一般在题目中给出一个或几个统计表
格、 柱状图或饼状结构图等，通常还给出作文的标题和一些提示，一般要写成论说文，要求考生：
? 用文字描述图表，客观解释图表中所传递的信息并找出某种规律或趋势；
? 就图表中所反映出的某种趋势或问题分析其原因或后果。

（三） 情景作文（situational composition）

题目 中给定一个情景，要求考生在这个范围内充分发挥想象力，精心构思出一篇符合情景要求、意思连贯的短文。这类 作文
限定条件比较少，考生自由发挥程度较大。通常是采用书信形式，因此要求考生掌握书信的基本写作 格式。
例如下面的考题实例：

进一步分析上述三种命题形式，我们可以从作文体裁角度对四级作文再分类。
（一） 提纲作文实质上是议论文，其下可分为四种类型：
