、B、C和D)中,选出最佳选项,并在答题卡上将该项

A
Marvin, a friend of mine, was the kind of guy who
was always happy and had something positive to
say.
Being a natural motivator, Marvin was
there telling the employee how to look on the
positive side of the
situation whenever he or
she was having a bad day.
Several months ago
in his restaurant, Margin was held up at gunpoint
by four armed robbers. They
panicked and shot
him. Luckily, Marvin was found relatively quickly
and rushed to the local hospital. After
18
hours of operation and weeks of intensive care,
Marvin was recovered with pieces of the
bullets(子
弹)still in his body.
It is
really a miracle(奇迹)for Marvin’s surviving the
robbery. When I met Marvin after the terrifying
accident, I did ask him what had gone through
this mind as the robbery took place. Marvin
replied, “as I lay
on the floor, I remembered
that I had two choices: I could choose to live, or
I could choose to die. I declined
to choose to
die.” Marvin continued, “The nurses kept telling
me I was going to be fine. But when they
wheeled me into the emergency room and from
the expressions on the faces of the doctors and
nurses I read,
‘He’s a dead man.’ I knew I
needed to take action.” “What did you do?” I
asked. “Well, there was a big
nurse shouting
questions at me,” said Marvin. “She asked if I was
allergic to anything. ‘Yes’ I replied. The
doctors and nurse stopped working as they
waited for my reply. I took a deep breath and
yelled, ‘Bullets’.
Over their laughter I told
them, ‘I am choosing to live. Operate on me as if
I am alive, not dead.’”
“Each time
something bad happens, I can choose to be a victim
or to learn from it. I choose to learn
from
it. Every time someone comes to me complaining, I
can choose to accept their complaining or to point
out the positive side of life. I choose the
positive side of life.” Marvin concluded.

Why not create new
memories to share with your children? Remember as
a kid how thrilled you were to
spend quality
time outdoors with your family? Together in the
fresh air, playing catch, fishing on a boat or
building sand castles, you hoped that these
loving, fun-filled moments would last forever.
Here are 4 ways
to create memorable
experiences with your kids this summer.
Hit
the beach
Pack your bathing suits, sun cream
and towels - a beach bound adventure offers warm
memories for all
family members. Remember
swimming in warm water at the shoreline, playing
among the sands, and diving
into the
refreshing surf after a game of beach volleyball?
You can recreate these happy experiences.
Play
Street Hockey(曲棍球)
The best thing about
summer street hockey is that loved ones of all
skill levels can join in for an
afternoon of
physical activity, outdoor fun and competition.
Channel your inner Sidney Crosby or Hayley
Wickenheiser and see who can score the most
goals.
Camp
Sleep under the stars, cook
on a campfire and swim in a stream - camping in
the great outdoors is a
sure way to have
wonderful family memories. Some campsites offer
equipment such as full bathrooms,
showers and
sleeping bags. For more information visit Parks
Canada’s website.
Take a Road Trip
Traveling along the highway with the windows
down, wind rushing through your hair and the radio
turned up loud enough for you to sing along.
Who didn’t love a summertime journey in the
backseat of their
parents’ car as a kid? This
summer, give your kids a taste of what you enjoyed
at their age. Take a family
road trip
exploring together.
25. Who is the text
intended for?
A. Teachers
B. Coaches
C. Parents
D. Players

A.
swimming in the deep sea B. building
sand castles
C. diving into the refreshing
surf D. playing beach volleyball
27. If you enjoy sleeping under the stars with

B.
C. D.
28. What does the author suggest doing for
taking the road trip?
A. Taking along enough
food B. Bringing sleeping
bags
C. Packing your sun cream
D. Sing along to music
C
In our life of
journey, we each have important roles to play.
Some are conductors and some are singers.
And
the rest are heroes in the supporting
cast(配角演员)and are necessary to complete the
different tasks in
life. The “stars” would be
greatly darkened if the individual heroes don’t
support their performances. The
magical
accents of the performance section might sound
terrible and out of place, unless you could also
hear
the music they accompany. Even one member
of an orchestra doing less than their best could
stop the
harmony of the musical piece.
So even though you may not receive the attention
of the other performers, your contribution is
valuable
and a unique part of the success of
the whole in the life you lead.
When you do
your job well, you put your own unique energy into
the task. Each of us has a different
personality and a different talent, just
suited for the different roles we support. We can
look around us at any
moment and identify with
the people we work with. Doing your job well
displays your ability and gratitude,
while
learning the lessons from others can move us
towards our goals.
When you are fully
present in the job you do, you bring the fullness
of your mind, body, and spirit to the
moment.
Your contribution is strengthened by your talents
and abilities, and they can attract the right
people
and circumstances to your experience.
You are playing your role to your very best. You
are giving your best
to be the world and
making it a better place for all of us to live in.
remember, each of us is expected to be
the
best.
29. What does the first paragraph mainly
discuss?
A. The “stars’ also need many
other people’s support
B. One person might
perform different roles
C. You are a
failure unless you become the “stars’
D.
The “stars” are successful because of their own
efforts
30. According to the author, doing the
job well can help you _________.
A. get a
rise in your company
B. show your ability
and talents
C. receive the attention of
others
D. get a sense of success
31.
What can we learn from the text?
A. No
pains, no gains B. Practice makes
perfect
C. All roads lead to Rome
D. Everyone is expected to do his best
D
Taktak tabulaba?
You probably
don’t know how to answer that question---unless
you happen to be one of the about 430
people
in the world who speak a language called Matukar
Panau. Then you would know it means “What are
we doing?” Matukar Panau is one of the world’s
rarest languages. It is spoken in just two small
coastal
villages in Papua New Guinea.
Several years ago, David Harrison, a language
expert didn’t know much about Matukar Panau
either. No
one had ever recorded or even
studied its words and rules. With so few speakers,
the language risked
disappearing soon. It was
endangered.
Harrison didn’t want that to
happen to Matukar Panau. So in 2009, he set out
for Papua New Guinea.
His goal: use modern
technology to help the remaining speakers preserve
their native tongue.
But Matukar Panau is
far from the only language facing loss. Studies
suggest that by the end of this
century,
nearly half of the 7,000 languages now spoken
worldwide could disappear. They’re in danger
partly
because the only people left speaking
them are elderly adults, Harrison says. When those
individuals die,
their language will die with
them. In addition, children may discard a native
language and instead use more
common global
languages, such as Chinese, English or Spanish.
In the United States alone, 134 native
American languages are endangered. Harrison says,
“language
hotspots” exist all over the world.
These are places with endangered languages that
haven’t been recorded.
They include the state
of Oklahoma, pockets of central and eastern
Siberia, parts of northern Australia and
communities in South America.
32. The
purpose of using the question “Taktak tabulaba?”
is to ________.
A. introduce a new foreign
language
B. introduce the topic of the text
C. show the difficulty understanding
Matukar Panau
D. stress the importance of
Matukar Panau
33. What did Harrison go to
PaPua New Guinea for?
A. Learning their
native language
B. Leaning their modern
technology
C. Helping preserve their
endangered tongue
D. Teaching the
natives a new language
34. The underline word
“discard” in Paragraph 5 means _______.
A.
get rid of B. pick up
C.
hear of D. learn about
35.
The last two paragraphs imply that endangered
languages are _________.
A. dying quickly
in Siberia
B. popular in some special
places
C. becoming a worldwide problem
D. some native tongues

Fellows,
I’m Li Hua, a senior high student
from China. I’d like to share something with you.
Since the
beginning of senior high, the

stressed. Many of us often sit up
late at
night fighting for the College Entrance Exam; even
a ten-minute break won’t be let go.
