雅思词汇介绍之“综合能力”用英语怎么说
针对当前教育领域存在的一些违背规律、 影响正常教育教学秩序问题，教育部要求切实减轻学生过重的课业
负担，坚决纠正各种随意侵占学生休息 时间、加深课程难度、增减课程和课时等做法。

The principle of striving to develop students' all-round abilities in areas such as morals, intelligence, physical fitness,
work and aesthetics has not changed since the founding of New China, but people seem to ignore that nowadays. 自新
中国成立以来，努力培养学生德、智、体、 美、劳全面发展的宗旨一直都没有改变，但现在人们似乎已经忽略
了这个宗旨。

上面的报道中，develop students’ all-round abiliti es是“培养学生的综合能力”，也就是我们通常所说的“全面发
展”，这里的“全面”（all- round）涵盖的范围上文中也提到了，分别是morals（德）, intelligence（智）, physical
fitness（体）, work（劳） and aesthetics（美）五个方面。

All-round在这里的意 思是“全面的，综合的”，对学生来说就是各个方面都有所发展；那么在我们的国家建设
中，“全面建设 小康社会”就是to advance China into a moderately prosperous society in an all-round way。而在体育
界，all-round athlete就是“全能运动员”，去年奥运会上杨威拿到的体操“全能冠军”则是all-round championtitle。
