从句中的谓语常含有may, might, can, could, should等情态动词，通常主句在前，从句在后，
中间没有逗号。

地点状语从句
引导地点状语从句的从属连词where，wherever指具体地点时，从 句可用于主句之前或之后；
表示抽象条件的含义时，从句须放在主句之前。
Where there’s a will there’s a way, but what if your name is Will？
Where there is no rain, farming is difficult or impossible.

注意区分where引导的定语从句与状语从句：
You’d better make a mark where you have any questions.（状语从句）
You’d better make a mark at the place where you have any questions.（定语从句）

方式状语从句

方式状语从句通常由as, (just) as...so..., as if, as though引导。
as, (just) as…so…引导的方式状语从句通常位于主句后，但在(just) as…so…结构中位于句
首， 这时as从句带有比喻的含义，意思是“正如”“就像”，多用于正式文体。
Please do as what I told you.
As water is to fish, so air is to man.
Just as we sweep our rooms, so we should sweep backward ideas from our minds.
as if, as though两者的意义和用法相同，引出的状语从句谓 语多用虚拟语气，表示与事实相
反，有时也用陈述语气，表示所说情况是事实或实现的可能性较大。常译 作“仿佛……似的”，
“好像……似的”。
He looks as if (as though) he had been hit by lightning.（与事实相反，谓语用虚拟语气。）
It looks as if the weather may pick up very soon.（实现的可能性较大，谓语用陈述语气。）
as if as though也可以引导一个分词短语、不定式短语或无动词短语：
He cleared his throat as if to say something.
The waves dashed on the rocks as if in anger.
其他的引导词：
the way：Please pronounce the word the way I do.请照我这样,读这个单词.

让步状语从句
whatever，whoever，wherever，whenever，however等引导的 让步状语从句可以和no matter
whatwhowherewhenhow等引导的让步状语 从句换用，意为“无论……，都……”。解这一
类题目时，要注意连词在让步状语从句中所作的句子成分 ，另外，还要注意从句的语序。
However well prepared you are, you still need a lot of luck in mountain climbing.
However hungry I am, I never seem to be able to finish off this loaf of bread. （2008辽宁卷）
al though和though引导让步状语从句时意为“尽管，虽然”，二者一般可以换用。要注意
al though 和though不能和but连用，但可以和yet或still连用。例如：
Although this is only a small town, it's crowded with tourists who come here all year round.
We had to wait half an hour although we had already booked a table.

even ifeven t hough意为“即使，尽管”，引导的让步状语从句的内容既可以是事实，也可以
是一种假设。例如：
Many of them turned a deaf ear to his advice, even though they knew it to be valuable.
Allow children the space to voice their opinions, even if they are different from your own.

a s引导让步状语从句时，意为“尽管，虽然”，从句多位于主句之前，而且必须使用倒装语序。
通常如果 从句中有形容词或名词作表语，则把表语置于句首，而且名词前要省略冠词；如果
从句中有修饰动词的副 词，则将该副词置于句首；如果从句中有情态动词，则将情态动词后
的动词原形置于句首。例如：
Strange as it might sound, his idea was accepted by all the people at the meeting.
Try as she might, Carolina couldn’t get the door open.
Quiet student as he may be, he talks a lot about his favorite singers after class.

while引导让步状语从句，意为“尽管，虽然”，相当于although。
While the Internet is of great help, I don’t think it’s a good idea to spend too much time on it.
While I really don’t like art， I find his work impressive.
While modeling business is by no means easy to get into， the good model will always be in
demand.

no matter, whether…or…引导让步状语从句，意为“不管…还是…”。
All people, no matter they are old or young, rich or poor, have been trying their best to help those
in need since the disaster.
Whether you play or watch TV, you mustn’t disturb me.

比较状语从句
比较状语从句常用than, so (as) ...as, the more ... the more等引导。
I have made a lot more mistakes than you have.
He smokes cigarettes as expensive as he can afford.
The busier he is, the happier he feels.

使用状语从句时要注意的几个问题
1.在时间和条件（有时 也在方式、让步等）从句中，主句是一般将来时，从句通常用一般现
在时表示将来。
We’ll go outing if it doesn’t rain tomorrow.
I’ll write to you as soon as I get to Shanghai.
2. 有些时间、地点、条件、方式或让步从句，如果从句的主语与主句主语一致 （或虽不一
致，是it），从句的谓语又包含动词be，就可省略从句中的“主语 + be”部分。
When (he was) still a boy of ten, he had to work day and night.
If (you are) asked you may come in.
If (it is) necessary I’ll explain to you again.
3. 注意区分不同从句：引导的是什么从句，不仅要根据连词，还要根据句子 结构和句意来
判别。以where为例，能引导多种从句。
