Yes, 18

birthday is considered the most important. Each birthday
means a new year. I am most concerned about my 18th birthday as it is a
sign of adulthood, indicating that I am no longer a child, but one who

her own actions as an adult. Since my eighteenth birthday, I am
entitled to go shopping alone, to travel alone and to live
independently. I still remembered my 18th birthday. After my birthday

Nowadays in China, smoking is banned in many public places, such

As far as I am concerned, I am strongly in favor of this policy.
First of all, smoking is bad for health. And in public places it often
leads to second-hand smoking, which is bad for the smoker as well as
people around. Second, if you are talking with a person while you are
smoking, what will happen He or she will consider the necessity of
whether to go on talking or not, because your behavior shows that you
don’t care much about what you are talking. Smoking makes you lose
friends. Third, smoking costs lots of money, which will result in
quarrels and tight budget at home. That’s not good for building up of

I prefer to learn at school. First of all, I think school has
learning environment. If all the students around you are busy, you

help or conduct research in the library. Third, learning at school
follows strict schedules, students can learn step by step so that to

Everyone expriences so many episodes in one’s life including

my teacher asked us to prepare a speech about anything that we want to
talk about. Although I thought I had prepared so well, I still felt a
bit nervous .And what’s worse ,I decided to add some body language to
my speech, which I thought would be helfpful.

When I got on the platform of the classroom, I started , “You ,you

know that many people help us on help you and want something from you.
But we get to know that only our parents can share endless love to us.

Yeah， there are so many things that may make us feel stressed. For

that music is the best cure in the world, especially for bad mood.
Sometimes, when I feel stressed, I may listen to music or go and play
basketball. It’s a good way for me to get relaxed and to forget some
misfortune or disgusting things. After that, I become energetic and
active again.

I think the use of disposable of plastic bags should be banned. A
plastic bag contains 16 elements of poisons and a lots of bacteria and
carcinogen. It is harmful to human body, and it leads to serious
environmental pollution. Forthemore, it will take two hundred years to
get rotten, without being digested during the time. Plastic bags
endanger animals and human beings as well. So we should try to regulate
policies to ban the use of plastic bags and cleanse them out of our


life completely. Only in this way can we reconstruct a healthy society

There are lots of ways to broaden people’s minds, such as traveling,

My favorite way to broaden my mind is traveling. Traveling can

more, it refreshes me. By travelling, you can go to Disneyland and
experience being “a child again!” You can visit one of the “seven

study project. Thirdly, searching on Internet won’t take too much time.


Sometimes it will only take a few minutes to find information. Anyhow,
their are more advantages than what I have mentioned. I like to surf on

them on the phone or in your letters

I often call my parents when I am homesick or have troubles in my
university life. I often call my parents on Sunday morning.

Over the phone, I normal would ask them to take care of themselves,
eat healthy food and pay attention to the changeable weather or dress ,
I tell them some interesting things about my classmates and what I
learned in the week. By informing them what I am doing, I wish to
relieve them from warrying about me. I hope to hear their laughter,
which is a consolation to me. Now, I've got into a habit of calling my
parents every week.

Courage means dare to say or do what you think is right, even though

I enjoy seeing English movies. First of all, seeing English movies

movies to help prove both listening and speaking.

Secondly, by seeing English movies we can learn cultures of English-
spoken countries, understand how people think and behavior in
circumstances different from ours. In this way, we enrich our knowledge
and widen our horizon of other people and land. Thirdly, English movies
do not noly entertain people but also leave something for us to think
about. Take“2012” as an example: “What if the phenomena on the
screen come ture” is a real question to every body. After seeing these
movies, many people really begin to think about serious environmental
problems. Above all, seeing English movies helps both learning and
