I Warm-up activities
Step 1: Watch the film episode (Titanic) and then answer the following questions:
Qustions:
1. Why did Jack want Rose to make such a promise?
2. What would you do if you were Jack?
Step 2:
1. Have your family moved from one place to anther? If you have, how did you feel you wre
going to be away from the old house forever?
2. Have you ever attended a funeral of sb. You know very well? If you have, what wew you
thinking when you saw him for the last time?
II. Understanding the text
1. Ask students to read the text quickly and get a main idea of the text
2. Analyze the structure of the passage and ask students to divide the text into five parts.
3. Provide some related cultural background to students so that the text could be better
understood
