圣诞节的的英文：Christmas
圣诞节的英文是Christmas有时又缩写为Xmas，这可能是因为X
类似于希腊字 母Χ(Chi)，这个字母是基督)在希腊语中的
首字母。
圣诞节的来历
一、《天主教百科大全》上的关于圣诞节的条目介绍了各地最早
的圣诞节。圣诞节并没有出现在早期基督 教的节期之中，如爱任纽和
特土良都未提及。关于圣诞节期最早的记载来自公元200年左右的亚
历山太，其时亚历山太的革利免称，有些埃及神学家不仅对基督的生
年，同时也对他的生日过分好奇， 并把这个生日定在奥古斯都在朝的
第二十八年 Pachon 月25日(即公历5月20日)。325年的第一次尼
西亚公会议时亚历山大的教会确定了dies Nativitatis et
Epiphaniae(圣诞节和主显节的日期)。在12月庆祝的圣 诞于五世纪
时传入埃及。在耶路撒冷，来自波尔多的朝圣者 Egeria(亦称 Silvia)见证圣烛节(圣诞后四十日)是在1月6日后的四十日，而当地圣诞应
为一月六日。在安提阿，公元 386年前后金口约翰呼吁教会统一在
12月25日庆祝基督诞辰，其中一部分人在其他日子庆祝这一节 期至
少已经十年。
二、圣诞节基于耶稣受难日。由于耶稣死亡的确切日期在四本福
音书中没有明确记载，早期的基督徒试着去推测，得出大约在3月

25日或者 4月6日。根据圣经旧约预言救世主将死于整岁数或者他
降临的某一个整年，基督徒以此来推算耶稣的生 日：耶稣受难日加上
9个月就是他的生日——12月25日或者1月6日。但是这种说法从
来没 有被耶经学者们认可。只是某些基督教会欺骗非基督徒的幌子。
实际上复活节的日期每年都不一样，死亡 日也就不一样，而同时历法
也是一片混乱。在假设新约没有说谎并无视四大福音书自相矛盾之处
同时假设最后的晚餐是逾越节晚餐的前提下，西元2003年罗马尼亚
天文学家Liviu Mircea和Tiberiu Oproiu计算机计算的结果耶稣死
亡日期是西元33年4月3日星 期五下午3点。牛顿算的是西元34年
4月23日。即使如此，不同的假设和前提得到的计算结果都是不 同
的。
圣诞树的由来
The tradition of having an evergreen tree become a symbol
of Christmas goes back past recorded written history.
The Druids in ancient England & Gual and the Romans in
Europe both used evergreen branches to decorate their homes and
public buildings to celebrate the Winter Solstice. Over the
years, these traditions were adopted by Christians, who
incorporated them as part of their Christmas holiday
celebration.
Trees used specifically to celebrate Christmas are
mentioned in the early 1600's in Germany and surrounding

countries. The families would set up these trees in a prominent
location of their home and decorate them with colored paper,
small toys, food, and sometimes candles. As these people moved
or immigrated to other countries, they brought this tradition
with them.
Through the years many different things were used to
decorate Christmas trees. As the world moved into the 1900's,
many trees were decorated with strings of popcorn, homemade
cards and pictures, cotton to look like snow, candy in all
shapes and sizes, and occasionally, fancy store made glass
balls and hand blown glass figurines. Candles were sometimes
used, but often caused devastating fires, and many different
types of candleholders were devised to try to prevent tree fires.
Electric tree lights were first used just 3 years after Thomas
Edison has his first mass public demonstration of electric
lights back in 1879. The early Christmas tree lights were
handmade and quite expensive.
Today, Christmas tree ornaments can be found in nearly
every size, color, and shape imaginable, and they are used to
decorate the millions of Christmas trees used throughout the
world.
