一、宾语从句是英语中用来充当宾 语的句子。带有宾语从句的那个句子叫主句。宾语从句一
般由“引导词+主语+谓语+其它”构成，其语 序是陈述句语序。
二、宾语从句的引导词的用法：
1．That 本身没意义，只起连接作用，口语中可省略。例如：He said that Mr. Li was a teacher.
2．If/ whether 意思为“是否”，不作句子成分，但不能省略。例如: I don’t know whether/ if he
will come.
注意：if 有“是否”的意思，也有“如果”的意思；但whether只有“是否”的意思，whether 可
以和or not 连用，但if 不能；whether 引导的从句可以移到句首，而if不可以；在不定式
前只能用whether.
Please tell us whether to go there or not.
3．What, which, who, whose, whom等连接代词，在从句中做一定的成分，如主语、宾语、
定语等。 例如： Please tell me who/ whom we have to see.
4．When (指时间) 、where（指地点）、why(指原因)、how(表方式)等连接副词，在从句中做
状语。 例如： Do you know where he lives?
三、由连接代词和连接副词引导 的宾语从句可用疑问代词和疑问副词＋动词不定式替代，
进行句型上的转换。 Could you tell me how I can get to the post office? = Could you tell me
how to get to the post office?
四、宾语从句的时态
1. 主句中谓语动词是现在的时态（包括一般现 在时、现在进行时、现在完成时），从句中谓
语动词的时态不受限制，可根据具体情况选用适当的时态；
2. 主句谓语动词是过去的时态（包括一般过去时、过去进行时），从句中也必须要用某种过
去时态（包括一般过去时、过去进行时、过去将来时、过去完成时），以保持时态的前后呼
应。
3. 特别要注意的是当宾语从句表示的是客观真理、科学原理、自然现象、名言时，则用一
般 现在时，不受主句时态的限制。 『例』1). He says that he wants to see him as soon as possible.
2). He said that he wanted to see him as soon as possible. 3). The teacher told us that
the earth goes round the sun.
五、否定前移
当主句的谓语动词是think, believe, suppose 等，而主句的主语又是第一人称时， 后接从句
的否定词常要前移，即否定主句动词。 例如：I don’t think he will come with you.
