“全球语”诞生 将终结“英语时代 ”
英语是目前世界最通用的语言，大多国际会议都以英语进行，令一班不以英 语为母语的人士苦不堪言，一名法国作家日前就以英语为基础创造了一套较易掌握的语言，称为“全球语”（Gl obish），旨在方便沟通。
据《泰晤士报》报道，66岁的法国人内里埃 在退休前是美国IBM（国际商业机器）的副总裁，他所创造的“全球语”只有1500个英文单字，句子短小， 文法很简单，完全不用成语，并大量利用手势来表达意思。
内里埃表示，在跨 国会议上，母语为英语的人总爱抛出华美的辞藻和复杂的句子，令外国人听得一头雾水，他认为与其艰辛的学习“ 英女王式英语”，倒不如学会“全球语”。他指“全球语”便利了沟通，更觉得能操流利英语的人都应该学习，以 拉近与其他人在语言上的距离，但他强调“全球语”只应用于国际交流，各种语言皆是文化的一部分，都应予以保 存。内里埃认为它并不是严格意义上的语言。他说：“它不是一种语言。它只是一种工具。语言是文化的载体。全 球语不具备这种功能。它是一种交流手段。”u3000
内里埃认为，全球语 与凭空创造的沃拉卜克语、创新语或世界语不同。它与电脑领域的算法语言也不是一回事。它是一种简化的英语： 使其语言简单化，使其规则易于理解。
u3000 内里埃说：“全球有 88％的人口在使用的这种语言并不是真正意义上的英语。如果讲英语的人听不懂，这种语言就毫无用处。”他编 写的入门读物《讲全球语》阐述了这种全球性语言的规则。他说，自从该书去年在巴黎出版以来，他的网站www ．jpn—globish．com已经被点击了3．6万次。u3000
内 里埃在退休前是国际商用机器公司的市场高级管理人员，能讲一口纯正的英语。但是，如果别人听不懂他的话，他 就会转而使用全球语。“我观察他们的面部表情。如果他们听不懂，我很容易就能看出来。”u3000全球语主 要借助1500个英语词汇（《牛津英语词典》收录了61．5万个词汇）、手势和重复来表达。下月出版的第二 本读物《发现全球语》将阐述语法问题。
u3000 内里埃说：“全球 语‘以理解为出发点’。不过，在1500个词汇的清单当中并不包括‘理解’和‘出发点’这两个字眼。如果用 全球语来说，就是‘目标’、 ‘目的’和‘宗旨’。如果我使用这三个词汇，世界各地的人们都能明白我的意思 。”u3000这个清单包括了从“能够（able）”到“零（zero）”的1500 个词汇。里面不包括 “侄子”和“侄女”之类的字眼，但“你可以换个说法，比如‘我哥哥（弟弟）的孩子’”
。他 觉得自己不该把“美（beauty）”和“美丽的（beautiful）”都收录在清单中。另一个错误是， 他收录了“很多（much和many）”，却没有收录“大量（lot）”。u3000
1500个词汇的威力
u3000 发明全球语的想法产生 于20世纪80年代。当时，内里埃在国际商用机器公司的巴黎分公司工作，与来自大约40个国家的同事打交道 。一次会议期间，原定有两个美国人在会上发言，但他们的航班延误了。于是这些同事开始用内里埃所谓的“某种 走了样的英语”交谈。后来，美国人赶到了。除了他们的开场白“我是吉姆” 和“我是比尔”之外，大家什么也 没听懂。不用说，吉姆和比尔也听不懂大家的走了样的英语。u3000
我们 可以说，这些人都在下意识地使用全球语（当然，吉姆和比尔除外）。“他们和我一样，都在讲一种蹩脚的英语， 而不是真正的全球语。一个人也许掌握了 2000个词汇，另一个人的词汇量只有1200个，而且不尽相同。 全球语的有趣之处在于，你可以用1500个词汇表达所有的意思。全世界的人们都可以用相同的有限词汇交谈。 ”u3000
由于许多企业规定把英语作为通用语言，所以内里埃认为全球语 将广为流行。由于可以通过电脑学习，可以通过电话练习，所以这种语言易于掌握。法国新出台的一项法律规定， 雇员每年有权脱产20小时，学习一门选定的课程。“目的是让他们掌握与目前从事职业无关的技能，从而增强他 们的就业能力。我想，恐怕不会有多少人要求学习织花边，学习马耳他语的可能性也不大。为什么不学习全球语呢 ？如果我在目前工作的小杂货店用得上它，也许就能凭借它在大饭店找到工作。”u3000他认为，学习全球语 还有一个好处。“如果每年培训20个小时，你需要花24年才能掌握英语。效果肯定不好，因为时间过于分散， 学生很难记住两周前讲授的内容。如果学习全球语，你可以随时通过因特网和电话获得练习机会，还可以在印度等 学费低廉的国家学习。这些地方的人们能讲一口流利的英语，而且工资很低。” u3000
内里埃估计，经过182个小时的学习之后，学生就应该能够用全球语交流。这种语 言并不优美————它累赘而单调，但内里埃再次指出，它只是在人们不懂得严格意义上的英语时所借助的工具。 他解释说：“这并不是哈姆雷特、福克纳或弗吉尼亚·伍尔夫的语言。”这项计划当中只有一个疏漏：以英语为母 语的人可能听不懂流利的全球语。那也没关系：内里埃正在编写全球语入门读物的英语版（目前已经有了意大利语 版和西班牙语版），并且将于不久后出版。因此，他不仅在保护法语免遭英语的入侵，而且在
