1、可数名词单数变复数的规则
（1）规则变化
种类 变化
一般情况 在词尾加-s
例词
book-books,car-cars
Worker- workers,cat-cats
以s,x,ch,sh结尾 在词尾加-es Box- boxes,bus-buses
Watch-watches,fish-fishes
以辅音字母加y结尾 把y变i加-es City-cities,baby-babies
Family-families,party-parties
以f或fe结尾 把f或fe变为v后加-es Life-lives,leaf-leaves
Knife- knives
辅音字母加o结尾 表示有生命的事物的名Potato- potatoes,tomato-tomatoes
词，在词尾加-es Hero-heroes
表示无生命的事物的名Piano-pianos,photo-photos
词，在词尾加-s
教你一招：以辅音字母加o结尾的名词加-es变复数，常见的有三个单词 ：英雄（hero）爱吃土豆
（potato）和西红柿（tomato）。

（2）不规则变化：
① 变oo为ee。Foot-feet（脚），tooth- teeth（牙齿）
② 变a为e。Man-men,woman-women,fireman- firemen
③ 在词尾加--children
④ 单复数形式相同。Fish- fish，deer-deer,sheep-sheep
⑤由man , woman在词首构成的复合名词应将两部分都变成复数
man doctor — men doctors
其余的只变后边一名词banana tree--- banana trees

* sports, clothes, goods做定语时,仍用复数形式
a sports bag a goods train
shoes store
⑥“某国人”的复数：中日不变英法变，其余s加后面.
Eg.a Chinese--Chinese
Englishman--Englishmen
German—Germans
⑦有些名词后以s结尾，但他们不是复数
a. maths，politics，physics等学科名词，为不可数名词，是单数。
b. news 是不可数名词。
c. the United States，the United Nations (联合国)应视为单数。
d. 以复数形式出现的书名，剧名，报纸，杂志名，也视为单数。
eg.
<<一千零一夜>>是一本非常有趣的故事书。
* people , police 常用单数形式表示复数概念
eg. The police are looking for the missing boy.

The Chinese people love peace.
