随着中国经济的快速发展,与世界对话的需要日益增长,因此我们的英语教育
也面临 着怎样提高学生英语交际能力这一问题。近年来,要求提高学生英语交际
能力的呼声一直很高,但是收效 甚少。分析了高校的英语教学现状,列出了英论
文将重心放在了具体怎样提高学生的英语交际能力上面。 在这部分论文先给出了
“交际能力”的定义,然后提出了一些解决现存问题的办法以期达到提高学生英< br>语交际能力的目的。

Ways to Improve English Communicative Competence

Abstract:With the rapid development of China, the need for
communicating with the world is increasing, thus the problem
of how to improve college students’ communicative competence
in English is confronting us. In recent years, it has been
highly appealed to improve students’ communicative competence
in English, but with little result. This paper analyzes the
present situation in schools identifying some key problems
existence in the teaching and learning of English .It then
focuses on ways as to how to improve students’ communicative
competence by suggesting some solutions to the problems in hope
of improving students’ communicative competence in English.

Introduction
What is the language function? Some people thought the
study language practice the grammar rule is grasps a series of
glossaries, grasping more the better? Wrong. Lenin said that,
“The language is the human most important human relations
tool.” Stalin also once said that, “The language is the tool,
the weapon, the people use it to come mutually the human

relations, the exchange thought, achieved understood
mutually.” Their speech elaborated the language human
relations function accurately. We not difficult to infer by the
language human relations function this substantive
characteristics: The people study the language the goal to lie
in the human relations, lies in the exchange thought, transmits
the information. The language human relations divide into the
spoken language and the written language two forms. Both
compare, no matter is looked by the language history perhaps
the study language natural law all should take the spoken
language as first. Therefore, English spoken language power of
expression raise, is in English teaching an extremely important
aspect. Anybody studies one language, if only then read-write
ability, but cannot understand, cannot say, then is far from
successfully the human relations. Thus regarding the study
language, grasps good studies the language the spoken language
expression custom and the method, then enhances the spoken
language human relations ability is extremely important.
Before we already discussed sharpened the student English human
relations ability the necessity, but actually what was human
relations ability? Renowned society linguist Himes pointed
out, “not only a study language person, his spoken language

appropriately ability” .He first proposed the human relations
ability (communicative competence) this famous concept, but

thought using the language, namely content; how to utilize the

Therefore enhances the duty which student English human
relations ability is item of we cannot neglect. Any language
all is uses for to analyze, the expression and the understanding
thing tool, English is not exceptional. Thus student study
English is not merely for can read the gain information, also
is for can carry on the effective exchange with other people.

As follows these some ways to improve the communicate
competence in English.
1. Problems about English comunication
English spoken language human relations are not a simple
process, it needs human relations itself to have the various
ability and the state-of-art and other intrinsic factors, here
several questions which must pay attention on the display
English human relations function, chats own view.
1.1 problems about grammar and glossary
It is very difficult tentative plan not to understand the
pronunciation, the grammar, the intonation person can be very
good human relations. Sharpens the human relations ability,
first is the pronunciation is accurate, enunciates clearly,
avoid unclearly, the ambiguous phenomenon. We knew in English
have many phonemes to be very similar: If (t) and (d) if you

2 Sharpens the student English human relations ability the
effective action in class
2.1 Teacher adjusts the teaching method
Since has that many student unsatisfied teacher's teaching
method, then teacher has the necessity to adjust own teaching
method. I think each teachers all to be supposed very familiar
CLT (Communicative Language Teaching) the teaching method,
also is the human relations teaching method, but must cut as
the classroom instruction in actually is not an easy matter as
practical. In my opinion teachers should transform through
several steps own teaching method into the human relations
teaching method.
2.2 transform teacher- oriented to student-centered
Teacher should from transform the classroom take the
teacher as central (teacher-oriented) as take the student as
central (student-centered).The traditional education system
formed take has taught the grammar as a key point, take teacher
as central educational model. In the classroom the teacher is
a lead, but the student is acting the audience and audience's
role, once in a while makes a note. But Finocchiaro(1986) looked
like in the linguist that, this is not the language teaching
most effective way. Nunan(1999) also further pointed out if the
