The reason why the elderly looked more or less upset about the upcoming New Year celebration may lie ,first and foremost , in the fact that to celebrate means to spend an amount of money beyond their tight budget .Besides ,the fleeting time also puts them under huge pressure .Unlike the kids excited about growing up with the coming of a new year ,the elderly always heave a sigh ,"Alas ,I'm one year older". For the kids,

New Year celebration marks their progress towards the splendid future awaiting them, while for the grown-ups, it is tantamount to the gradual decay of vigor and vitality towards their final years.
