解析:[听力原文] 1-5 Laughter is good for the heart because it prolongs life while depression
increases the risk of an early death, according to two new studies. A good bout of laughter every
day provides similar cardiovascular benefits as exercise because it stimulates the blood flow,
said Michael Miller, who headed one research team at the University of Maryland. On the other
hand, depression--or the lack of laughter--is often linked to unhealthy habits such as smoking
and drug addiction and increases the risk of death by 44 percent, said Wen Jiang, who led a study
of 1,000 heart patients for the University of North Carolina. Miller said laughter produced a

activity, but without the aches, pains and muscle tension associated with exercise.
laughter should not replace exercise, he said, do recommend that you try to laugh on a regular
basis. Thirty minutes of exercise three times a week, and 15 minutes of laughter on a daily basis
is probably good for the vascular system.

(1).Researchers said that children do not necessarily develop healthy bones in a report that
stresses ______ consumption of calcium-rich foods such as tofu and broccoli.(分数:1.00)
填空项1:__________________ (正确答案:exercises and modest)
解析:[听力原文] 6-10 Children who drink more milk do not necessarily develop healthier bones,
researchers said in a report that stresses exercise and modest consumption of calcium-rich foods
such as tofu and broccoli. Appearing in the journal Pediatrics, the report drew its conclusions
from previously published studies and was written by researchers from the Physicians Committee
for Responsible Medicine, which advocates a strict vegetarian diet. Some earlier studies that
extoled dairy products as a calcium source had been funded at least in part by the dairy industry.
The U. S. government has gradually increased recommendations for daily calcium intake, largely
from dairy products, of between 800 and 1,300 milligrams to promote healthy bones and prevent
osteoporosis. But the Physicians Committee's report said boosting consumption of milk or other
dairy products was not necessarily the best way to provide the minimal calcium intake of at least
400 milligrams per day. Other ways to get the absorbable calcium found in one cup of cow's milk
include a cup of fortified orange juice, a cup of cooked kale or turnip greens, two packages of
instant oats, two-thirds cup of tofu, or 1 - 2/3 cup of broccoli, the report said. Several of
the studies, which examined such factors as bone density and rate of fractures, concluded that
exercise may be more important than increased calcium consumption in developing strong bones.
Data was scarce on the effect of calcium intake for children younger than 7 years old, the report
said. Dairy products provide 18 percent of the total energy and 25 percent of the total fat intake
in the diets of American children, who are developing increasing rates of obesity, it said. In
an editorial in the journal commenting on the report, Frank Greer, a pediatrician at the University
of Wisconsin in Madison, said the ideal way to achieve the goal of healthy bones is to make sure
children exercise and consume up to 1,300 milligrams a day of calcium.

(1).Judy Blume writes mostly about ______.(分数:1.00)

les in the work place
les for survival
les for growing up √
解析:[听力原文] 11-13 American children's writer Judy Blume has won many awards. Her books have
sold more than seventy-five million copies. They have been published in more than twenty languages.
Now the National Book Foundation will honor her with its two thousand four Medal for Distinguished
Contribution to American Letters. Faith Lapidus has more about Judy Blume and her books. Judy
Blume is sixty- six years old. But book critics say this grandmother has never forgotten what it
feels like to be a child. She writes mostly about the struggles of growing up. She published her
first such book in nineteen sixty-nine. Judy Blume says she writes about real life and real feelings.
And she says children recognize themselves and their own problems in her books. These are problems
like not having friends, or worrying about physical development, or being afraid to grow up. Some
of the children in her books are trying to understand why their parents have separated. Others
are not sure about their religious beliefs. Not everyone praises Judy Blume, however. Some parents
feel that children should not read about some of the subjects that she writes about. Her books
have often been removed from libraries or placed in restricted areas as a result of challenges
by parents. The American Library Association says five of her books are among the one hundred
most frequently challenged books. Not surprisingly, Judy Blume is active against censorship. She
