1 Hanging a bell on a cat
The mice were worried about going about freely. Because of the scary cat.
Finally, they held a meeting and discussed what they should do. The old
grandfather mouse came forward and said.“How can we go about freely
without being discovered by the cat?”A mouse wearing glassed answered.
“Let’s make a new path. The cat won’t be able to find us.”“That’s no
good The cat can smell and find us easily.”“Isn’t there any other way? ”
“What you worried about? We’ll just stay in here.”“Fool, how will we
get food then? ”They had to find a way to be safe from the cat, but they
weren’t getting any great ideas from the meeting.” If we can't think of a
good way, we’re going to have to live the rest of our lives fearing the
cat. ”“We have a good idea.” A young mouse stepped forth. Everybody
looked at him and was curious what the idea was.” Go ahead. Is there a
way to be safe from the cat?” “Ha-Ha, of course, hangs a bell on the cat’s
neck?”“ Bell?”“ Yes, a bell”“Then we can hear it every time the cat
moves.”“ Whenever we hear the bell, we can run away.” “What do you
think of my idea?” All the mice nodded at the idea. “Yes, that’s a good
idea.”“ We’re finally free from the cat”“Hurray. ”All the mice cheered
and were happy. The grandfather mouse spoke up. “But who is going to
hang the bell on the cat?” At that moment, all the mice suddenly became
quiet and trembled at the thought of the cat.



2 The old man with the wen
Long ago, there lived a kindhearted man with a huge wen on his face.
One day, the old man was cutting wood and it became dark.

goblins place another wen on the old man's cheek. Children laughed the
mean old man who ended up with another wen on his face.

3 The Grateful eagle
A farmer was working in the fields on a very hot summer day. He heard a
flapping sound in the distance.” What could that sound be” The farmer
stopped his work and went to see what the sound was. An eagle was
caught in a trap and flapping its wings. “Oh, you poor thing. You got
caught in a trap.” I guess even the king of the skies can get caught in a
trap.” Poor thing, I’m going to save you.” The farmer freed the eagle
from the trap. The eagle spread its wings and flew away. “Good-bye,
eagle. Be careful next time.” The eagle seemed to understand what the
farmer said. It circled in the sky and flew off.” What a great bird. Oh,
dear.I’d better get back to word.” The farmer smiled and headed back to
the field. One day, the farmer was resting below the eaves. Suddenly, and
eagle came and took his hat.” What a nasty eagle.” Give me back my hat
right away” The angry father chased the eagle. The eagle took the
farmer’s hat and flew off. It placed the farmer’s hat under a tree in the
distance. The farmer follows the eagle and stared at it.” You mean eagle.”
