1) 时间状语从句 When the earthquake broke out, all the students were sleeping soundly.
2) 地点状语从句 He likes to make friends wherever he goes.
3) 条件状语从句 I won’t wait for him unless he rings me tomorrow.
4) 原因状语从句 Since you are going, I will go.
5) 比较状语从句 This road is six miles longer than that one is.
6) 方式状语从句 I remember the whole thing as if it happened yesterday.
7) 目的状语从句 Betty got up early in order that she might get the train.
8) 结果状语从句 He made such an excellent speed that it broke the old record.
9) 让步状语从句 Though I like writing to my pen friend, it takes a lot of time.


1时间状语从句: when , as , while , before , after , as soon as , since , until/till ,
immediately/directly , the moment , the minute , once , no sooner…than ,
hardly…when , whenever
1) when 强调谓语动词的动作和从句的谓语动词的动作，同时发生或先后发生。
I made your birthday cake when you were in bed last night.
She didn’t even look up when I took my seat beside her.
2) while 和 as 引导的强调主句和从句的动作同时发生。wh ile引导从句谓语动词是
延续性
动词，且多用于
进行时
。as
则强调

“一面
…
一面”。

He was watching TV While I was writing a letter last night.
As the children walked along the street, they sang happily.
3) 肯定形式+可延续性动词+till/until(一直到）+ 从句 .
The man read till the light went out.
否定形式+瞬间动词+until(直到…才) + 从句
Mr Smith won’t come back until you give him a call.
He didn’t get up until his mother came in.
4) since 引导的从句，用瞬间性动词一般过去式，主句用完成时或一般现在时。
He has worked here since it opened in 1989.
It is just a week since we arrived here.
5) as soon as 一…就 I’ll write to you as soon as I arrive in Beijing.(从句位于句首要用逗句)
6) directly/immediately/instantly 一…就 I went home directly I had finished work.
7) no sooner … than一…就 No sooner has she said it than she burst into tears.
8) hardly/scarcely…When 一…就 We had hardly sat down when the phone rang.
9) the minute/moment/instant 一…就 I recognized his voice the moment he spoke.
10) soon after …后不久 He began to work at school soon after he arrived.
