Should People Own Cars or Not?
There is no denying the fact that it has been a hotly debated topic in China
whether people should have their own cars. People’s opinions differ sharply on this
issue. Some hold the positive view. They say that the car provides the most
convenient form of transportation. Besides, a car is a comfortable way to travel,
especially in winter. Finally, a driver is usually safe in his car when he is out at night.
Others, however, hold the opposite view. They say that there are many
disadvantages to owning a car. For one thing, it can be very expensive to purchase
and run a car. For another, owning a car can also cause worry and stress. It is
exhausting to drive a car in heavy traffic. What is worse, cars are responsible for most
of the smog in cities, which pollutes the environment seriously.
In spite of all the above mentioned, I still favor owning a car. The reason is that
the car gives a person the freedom to schedule his own time. Though we are
confronted with a problem of energy crisis, I am sure that the real solution will have
to be a new kind of car, one that uses cheap, efficient fuel and does not contaminate
the air.

My View on Fake Commodities
Nowadays fake commodities have flooded almost every inch of the market.
Wherever you are, whatever you do, it seems that you can hardly have fallen prey to
them. In other words, it is highly probable that you have bought some of those fake
goods or products of inferior quality。
Needless to say, fake commodities have already done great harm to our society.
On the one hand, they will ruin the good reputation of genuine products and disturb
the balance of the market. On the other hand, the prevalence of such products has
hindered interpersonal relationship and resulted in the decline of public morality. As a
consequence, they have wasted exhaustible resources, endangered people’s precious
life and health, and in the long run eroded public trust。
Then, what should be done to do away with fake commodities? To start with, the
government needs to tighten its inspection program and strengthen its enforcement
policies. Secondly, honest businessmen should modify some long-accepted practices
at the protection of their intellectual property right. Most important of all, we
consumers will have to do a better job of learning how to distinguish between the
genuine and the phoney and definitely say no to the fake ones. In one word, the
coordinated effort of the whole society will put an end to fake commodities.

“What perfumes are you wearing?” “Aren’t your shoes Nike’s latest release?” “I
like the Mickey bag you bought yesterday.” “I hear the Jack & Jones store is on sale
this week. Do you wanna come along?” Don’t feel surprised if you hear them coming
out of the mouth of college students. It’s quite common to hear and see college
students swapping information about the brands they like and the products they use.
In fact, discussions about brand names have become one of the college students’
favourite pastimes. They learn about the latest fashion from each other, exchange tips
about when and where to get the item, and buy it at their earliest convenience.
“Keeping up with the Joneses” is their conviction —“If the Joneses have it, how could
I have not?” About this current mindset of the college students, many people may
hasten to show their disapproval. They’ll probably take it to be a reflection of the
students’ vanity and superficiality. And they may lecture them on the virtue of being
thrifty.
However, I beg to differ. For one thing, name-brand products are usually quality
products. They are something beautiful, endurable, and reliable. “The love of beauty
is common to all,” goes the proverb; therefore, there’s nothing to blame about the
pursuit of famous brands. For the other, college students are old enough to make their
own decisions. Likewise, they must abide by the consequences if they make an
ill-advised one. If they let their pursuit of brands eat into their budget for other more
important issues, they should be able to correct their mistakes and keep everything in
moderation. So this becomes no other than a good chance to learn management, isn’t
it?

Waking Up
Many of us are familiar with the experience of waking up to the fact that our
lives are no longer working the way we have set them up. Sometimes this is due to a
shift occurring inside ourselves over time, and sometimes it is part of the larger shift
that is currently affecting all humanity. Change is happening at such an increased rate
that it is difficult to predict what the future holds. As a result, many of the old ways of
planning out a life are no longer applicable, and if we cling to them we feel strangely
out of tune with reality. If we are in tune with the energies around us, we will begin to
question ideas that just a few years ago seemed sensible.
In the simplest terms, the shift we are undergoing right now has to do with
recognizing ourselves as being more than human, remembering that our earthly
aspects are a very small part of who we are. In truth, we are multidimensional beings.
When we begin to realize this, the life we planned for a limited conception of
ourselves no longer fits. We must meet the needs and qualifications not only of our
bodies but also of our souls. This realization dawns slowly for some and with the
suddenness of a bolt of lightning for others, and we all must find the way that works
for us to integrate this new and larger sense of self into our life plan.
Sometimes a drastic change feels totally right, and overnight we might decide to
sell our home and move to another country or quit our job and begin a second career.
Other times, we allow the changes to proceed slowly, beginning perhaps with
allowing ourselves to dream of a new life or just to ask the deeper questions that
encourage us to discover our true purpose in life. Either way, know that this process is
a natural sign of the growth we are all going through, and trust it to guide you to the
life of your dreams.
5、The Truths Within
Value Your Own Wisdom
Throughout our lives, we will encounter individuals who presume to know what
is best for us. The insights they offer cannot compare, however, with the powers of
awareness and discernment that already exist within us. From birth we are blessed
with wisdom that cannot be learned or unlearned. It exists whether or not we
acknowledge it because it is a gift given to us by a loving universe before we chose to
experience existence on the earthly plane. Yet for all its permanence, it is vital that we
value and honor this incredible element of the self. It is when we do not use our
inborn wisdom that we begin to doubt our personal truths and are driven to outside
sources of information because we are afraid. What we know to be true in our hearts
is invariably true, and we discover how intensely beautiful and useful self-trust can be
when we recognize the power of our wisdom.
Inner wisdom is not subject to the influences of the outside world, which means
that it will never demand that we surrender our free will or counsel us to act in
opposition to our values. We benefit from this inspiration when we open ourselves to
it, letting go of the false notion that we are less qualified than others to determine our
fate. The wisdom inside of us is the source of our discernment and our ability to
identify blessings in disguise. When we are unsure of who to trust, how to respond, or
what we require, the answers lie in our inner wisdom. It knows where we are going
and understands where we are coming from, taking this into account though it is not a
product of experience but rather a piece of our connection to the universal mind.
In the whole of your existence, no force you will ever encounter will contribute
as much to your ability to do what you need to do and be who you want to be as your
natural wisdom. Through it, you reveal your growing consciousness to the greater
source and discover the true extent of your strength. If you heed this wisdom with
conviction and confidence, the patterns, people, and fears that held you back will be
dismantled, paving the way for you to fulfill your truest potential.
