Jackie came in from the garden

kitchen to get a drink of water

Just then the phone rang

Shes at the doctors

Nothings wrong

Jackie said

Why are you telephoning

Mother wants everyone to be here

money for the train ticket

for

minute

stood
up

she cried

mothers
room

The window was open but the room was warm

on her arm

It was cold

coffee and an empty cup
