Compare and contrast the rise to power of one right wing leader of a
single party state and one left wing leader of a single party state.
Hitler
and
Stalin
are two
names
that
had
caused
catastrophes,
they all brings a huge affect of the world history. Between those two
are many similarities and different. These essay will compare and contrast Hitler and
Stalin.
They
have
similar
background
but
different
condition,
they
have
different
ideology, different rise to power but similar propaganda and eliminated opposition.
Stalin
a
and
Hitler
had
a
similar
background.
Stalin
born
in
peasant
in
Gori
district of Tiflis in Georgia, His father always came home drunk and beat him and his
mother
is
extremely
important
formative
experience.
He
had
went
to
several
religious schools because his mother wanted him to be a priest. Stalin
grew to hate
religion and became friends with many Marxist revolutionaries. Hitler Born in Linz,
Austria.
his
father
was
a
high-ranking
soldier,
relatively
kind,
family
respectably
well-off. Hitler was a smart young boy and he has been stopped trying in all but art,
he wanted to be an artist. He spent time doing virtually nothing, or art. Hitler applied
to arts Austrian school but he failed. And when he applied again for architecture, he
not accepted too.
Before
1917,
Russia
was
ruled
by
an
emperor
called
the
Tsar.
He
was
a
very
powerful
man
who
controlled
everyone
in
Russia.
Under
the
Tsar,
the
rich
people
owned large areas of land, big businesses and houses and occupied important posts
in
the
government.
The
peasants
and
the
town
workers
were
very
poor.
Russians
had been influenced by a German writer, Karl Marx. He believed that workers would
one day rise up against the rich and overthrow the government. He also thought that
the wealth of the rich should be shared equally among the people.
In
the
other
hand,
Germany's
condition
after
WW1
was
very
bad.
In
June
28
1919.
German signed Treaty of Versailles. Germany get into big trouble. Germany
economy
was
almost
crash.
Serious
inflation
around
German.
Germany
are
angry
about this. The Treaty of Versailles was one of the peace treaties at the end of World
War
I.
It
ended
the
state
of
war
between
Germany
and
the
Allied
Powers.
It
was
signed on 28 June 1919, exactly five years after the assassination of Archduke Franz
Ferdinand. The other Central Powers on the German side of World War I were dealt
with in separate treaties. Although the armistice signed on 11 November 1918 ended
the actual fighting, it took six months of negotiations at the Paris Peace Conference
to conclude the peace treaty.
As one of the greatest right-wing leader, Stalin's ideology is completely different
than Hitler's. Stalin think is necessary
to make different class. there are two main
classes of people--- The Bourgeois which is the rich, owned factories, controlled the
government. The Proletariat
–
the poor and powerless they are workers who worked
in factories. Marx and Engels believed that the bourgeois would continue to become
richer while the proletariat would be exploited by the bourgeois and become poorer.
This
would
lead
to
a
revolution
and
overthrow
of
the
government.
The
bourgeois
would be robbed of their power.
The revolution spread to other countries. Workers
who are discontented with their working conditions would rise against the capitalist.
The
rule
of
the
Bourgeois
would
come
to
an
end
and
power
would
pass
into
the
hands of the ordinary people. In this new world there would be no private ownership
of property.
Everything will belong to the community. This would be known as the
“Communist society”.
Hitler call his ideology Fascism.
A
right-wing
political
philosophy
based
on
order
over
liberty.
It
celebrates
militarism,
obedience
to
authority,
private
property.
It
hates
democracy,
communism,
socialism.
Hitler
blamed
the
other
European
countries,
and
the
minorities
living
in
Germany
for
the
poor
German
economy.
Hitler’s
party
soon
gained enough support so they could name him to office
. He said :“One people, one
empire, one leader!”
Stalin
and
Hitler's
rise
to
power
is
different
too.
Stalin
begins
speaking
out
in
favor
of
Bolshevism,
gets
elected
as
a
delegate
to
Marxist
party
congresses
after
1917
revolution.
Mostly
remains
somewhat
quiet,
clinging
to
Lenin.
After
Lenin’s
death,
exploits
other
party
members’
mistakes,
becomes
General
Secretary,
and
rallies support against Trotsky (then a leading party member), gets him kicked out of
the party. Gets control more or less of Cheka, secret police.
In
contrast,
Hitler
win
the
power
by
election.
Putsch
(revolution
attempt)
in
1923- failed. Hitler given public trial (tried for treason), gets support in declaring his
patriotism
being
the
reason
for
his
act
because
Germany
accepted
Treaty
of
Versailles, and lost WWI. Trial in newspapers- recognition. Gets out of jail, continues
to form Nazi party under his nationalist and racist views. Gets position as chancellor
through elections, slowly removes current government’s power, taking it himself, as
his subordinates had a dog-like admiration for him.
Both
Stalin
and
Hitler
eliminate
their
opposition.
The
first
Soviet
Secret
Police
were known as “The CHEKA”. All
-Russian Extraordinary Commission for. Combating
Counter-revolution
&
Sabotage.
Used
Terrorism,
Torture,
Assassination
and
Espionage. Had its own special elite military units and concentration camp. Separate
from
regular
criminal
police
(
MVD)
and
military
intelligence
(GRU).
Spied
on
everyone. Answered only to the leadership of the Bolshevik Party. Known by many
names - GPU, OGPU, NKVD, MGB and KGB. Even with his opponents removed, Stalin
