the
development
of
the
society,
travelling
abroad
has
enjoyed
an
increasing
popularity
among
Chinese
citizens,
which,
also
leads
to
a
heated
discussion
among
the
whole
world about their uncivilized behaviors.

Such kind of phenomenon, undoubtedly, hav
e aroused the public’s concern over our whole
nation’s image, and from my perspective, what it harms is not only the image, but also our dignity.
So here comes the question: What can we do to promote it?
First of all, the government and schools should work
at improving citizens’ awareness of
behaving themselves when travelling abroad, and the situation would be much better if they are
fully
aware
that
their
misbehavior
is
closely
connected
with
the
whole
nation’s
image.
What’s
more, we should put much emphasis on the spread of the common sense of travelling abroad, the
lack of which, may account for their panic and thus leading to misbehavior.

From
what
has
been
discussed,
the
promotion
of
civilized
traveling
abroad
needs
joint
effort of every one, and when you are travelling abroad, you should bear in mind that smiling is
the best solution.

Dear Editor,





Since
the
beginning
of
this
term,
the
Senior
Three
Students
of
our
school
have
had
four
exams every week. They have recently had a discussion about whether these exams are necessary
or not.





Opinions are divided on the question.70% of the students are against this arrangement. They
think that they have too many exams. These exams occupy lots of lecture time which should be

devoted to learning new lessons. The students have to stay up late preparing for the exams. They
feel
so
tired
that
they
often
fall
asleep
in
the
classroom.
They
suggest
that
they
have
exams
monthly instead of weekly.





On the other hand, 30% of the students think that in order to be well prepared for the college
entrance exams, the Senior Three students ought to be examined often enough. They serve as a
pressure forcing students to work hard. They hold the view
that the weekly exams shouldn’t be done away with.






I believe this discussion is important, and hope our teachers can also enter into it so as to
help our principal make a correct decision.

Studying Abroad: Hardships and Rewards



There is no denying the fact that studying abroad is a hotly debated topic today. Obviously,
studying abroad has a number of rewards/advantages. In the first place, a student can have access

to advanced science and technology as well as desirable working conditions which might not be
available at home. In the second place, he can be exposed to entirely new ideas and trends. Last
but not least, by living and studying in a foreign country, one can improve his foreign language
much faster than at home.


Nevertheless, as every coin has two sides, studying abroad also confronts one with a series of
hardships. For one thing, learning a foreign language is far from an easy thing at the beginning for
most people. For another, a completely new environment with different customs and habits may
also be a barrier to overseas students, especially to the young. An added difficulty lies with finance:
it can cost a lot to study abroad.


From my point of view, the advantages of studying abroad outweigh its disadvantages. But it
is
a
big
decision
to
go
abroad
to
study
and
one
should
take
into
consideration
his
financial
conditions and his ability to adapt to new surrounding. Personally, I choose to go abroad and study
if I find it necessary.
(Therefore, studying abroad should be viewed as a two-edged sword, which presents us with
both benefits and troubles. The best policy, as I see it, is to take into consideration his financial
