self- confidence is the mother of success


as is known to us all, a famous proverb says “failure is the
mother of success”. yes , it’s true. history informs us that
stories of successare also stories of great failure. as a matter
of fact. there are many factors that can contribute to a preson’s

uccess in life. today i will give you a new idea―self

confidence is the mother of success. success is getting up one
more time than you fall down. but when failures knocks you
down. will you have the confidence to get up
？
so self-
confidence is essential to success .

self-confidence means the firm belief that you can do things
well. it is believed to be the first secret of success. if you want
to succeed in doing anything, you must have confidence in
your abilities. and i

deeply aware that nothing can defeat a person who full of
confidence.

self- confidence gives you light when you are in dark, and
gives you encouragement when you are disappointed. it is
self-confidence that inspires you to cope with any hard task.
with self-confidence, you believe that you can and will succeed,
and this gives you the courage to try new things.


some people find most of the things impossible, saying, “it is
beyond my ability to do the task.” or “i am not fit for it.” these
are only lame excuses. when our heart is void of self-
confidence, every hope is gone, we will always living in the
moments of fear and thoughtless.

so ladies and gentlemen do you have it in you? if you think
you don’t, boost up youself as your mind is your greatest
mentor.

if you have a goal to pass cet 4 and cet 6 college english exam
easily with high marks, just believe in yourself. yes you can

if you want to be a great man in the future and never let your
parent down. just believe in yourself. yes you can

if you have a dream that conqur english to make china
stronger. just believe in youself. yes you can.

changed by the earthquake

so many things have been changed by the earthquake, and
among all of them, i find it most inspiring that
people’s
perception of the post-80 generation has been greatly changed.

once labeled as indifferent and self-centered, we grow under
immense concerns and criticism. what we did during the
earthquake has made the worries eliminated and the
disapprovals discarded. we were the nurses fighting 48
consecutive hours to save lives. we were the young teachers
ensuring all students’ safety but failing to get themselves out
of the ruins.

however, that is far from enough. we were also the young girl
with beautiful
eyes, shouting assuring under the rubbles, “i am
fine. i am alive.” we were also the young man who kept talking
with his girlfriend about their wedding ceremony until he lost
his voice, and, finally, his life.

to those voices of doubt, we respond with the courage to live
on and the resolve to earn the dignity of living under the
horrendous attacks of the earthquake. changed by the
earthquake is the perception of my generation, but what
remains unchanged is the caring heart, the sense of
responsibility and the undying

do we care too much about what the rest of the world thinks
about our country?i think we do not care too much. and
actually, we have a lot more to care about, because we have
certain image problems in some parts of the world. and
thatand more than that, some people only connect china with
the rich cultures. but they fail to understand what more than
china is, what we have achieved nobly in terms of the quality
education, the continue expansion of the rule of law.

and all in all, we believe, simply, we have a lot more to care
about: to provide a positive image of china to the world.

olympian and paralympian, man and superman

four billion people all over the world watched the olympics
this summer but only about two billion people watched the
paralympics.

does this mean that the paralympics is a second-class event?
of course not. 48 world records were broken in the olympics,
but 279 at the paralympics. 132 olympics records were set,
while 339 paralympic records. of course, the “lightening bolt”
of jamaica was the fastest man in the world. but what about
“black blade”—

who runs only 1
second slower, but whose legs are both amputated? who’s the

hidden somewhere in your heart. why don’t we let them out
and grasp it?

should olympic champions enjoy preferential treatment when
applying to universities?

ke what’s said in the video, universities are a higher
education. if these people have preferential treatments, then
their starting point would be lower than the other students in
the same university. it may seem nice; it may seem cool; it may
seem fair when they step into these doors. but after, when
once they step in, they may find it

and the last point, our world is a world of diversity. we need
people who are good at something they love and they can do,
not a lot of people can do anything, but nothing good. just like
clockwork, everything works in a specific way, so they can
work together?

taking on my challenges

ladies and gentlemen:

i grew up in a city by the yangtze river where water never
poses a subject of any great moment. the abundant water
resource is like a cozy cradle, breeding me, raising me and
blessing me, and it frees me from any concern for water
shortage. however, during my stay in sydney this summer,
some trifles challenged the thoughts and ideas that dwelled in
my mind.

with no choice but to take on challenges and adapt to changes.
the moment bits and pieces of challenges to my old lifestyle
trickled in, part and parcel of pictures of water shortage
flooded in: australia is the driest inhabited continent on earth;
over 80

countries suffer a water shortage that threatens health and
economy; and 40 percent of the wor
ld’s population still has no
access to clean water or safe sanitation.

reshaping myself from slow to sure, i should be glad to take
on my challenges far and

away.

are people educated overseas entitled to a higher salary?


well, my answer is “no.”

in the first place, chinese from overseas are not necessarily
superior or able since salary is the criterion of evaluating a
person’s quality. the highest salary should definitely be given
to people with the most capability, and not those who graduate
from a foreign university with a prestigious and shining big
name.


and on the other hand, the china’s own homemade talents are
also flourishing, according to the video clip. and looking at
these young candidates today, although none of us is a
student with a foreign diploma, i have faith in saying that we
havedemonstrated our characters, our english knowledge, as
well as our positive outlooks on life. and i have faith in saying
that we are potential pillars to our country.

可包括定题演讲、即兴演讲、回答问题等部分。可参考
大赛决赛形式。

演讲题目：

定题演讲可参考大赛决赛题目，也可自
定。即兴演讲题目自定。


评委组成：

邀请的专业指导教师名单


赛场布置：

组委会秘书处将提供统一宣传海报模板和赛场背板设计
模板（电子版）

二、复赛


参赛资格：

由各省复赛组织机构决定各初赛赛点进入复赛的名额。


比赛环节：

可包括定题演讲、即兴演讲、回答问题等部分。可参考
大赛决赛 形式。在进入决赛选手（前

名）中有并列名次时，须进
行加赛。
