Abstract

A mid-range wireless charging system for Electric Vehicles
based
on
magnetic
resonance
coupled(MRC)
wireless
power
transfer(WPT) technology is designed to improve convenience and safety
compared with plug-in charger. Principle of WPT technology is explained
using
coupled-
mode
theory
and
equivalent
circuit
theory.
Then,
equations that include six coupling coefficients were deduced to describe
the four-coil mutual-coupled WPT system. After that, simulation model
of mid-range wireless charging system is established using Simulink, and
the experimental platform is set up to verify the wireless charging system
that can transfer 3?300W power over 22cm distance efficiently.
