but too much homework is really a heavy burden for chinese
students. they have little time to take physical exercise and
some wear thick glasses because exercises take up most of
their spare time. they also suffer punishments if work is done
badly or late. after years of bad homework experiences, some
of them lose interest in study and hate school life.

so i think homework is necessary, but it needs to be well
designed and shouldn’t take up all the students’ spare time.
