Can You Live Without a Mobile Phone?
Have you tried to switch off your mobile phone for a day?




Mobile phones have a major impact on our lives these days so much that most of us would
feel it is indispensable for our day-to-
day activities. Isn’t it?

Not many of you could argue that mobile phones are not really a “must
-
have” for everyone. Of
course people were able to survive quite well for most of history without mobile phones. Mobile
phones are much recent technology alright. Well, that’s true but my question is –

can you give up your mobile phone for a day?
Will
you
be
able
to
stay
at
ease
with
your
mobile
phone?
And
not
wonder
if
you
missed
an
important call? And not think you are not able to multitask as well? And what about giving it up
forever? Can you get rid of your mobile phones completely? Well, I doubt you could. Here is the
reason why:





Now-a-days,
mobile
phones
are
being
used
for
almost
everything
–

travel,
business,
hotels,
education, entertainment, health care, you name it. Imagine a single mobile handset being used as
digital camera, audio and video recorder, multi-media messaging, email client, web client, gaming
platform, document viewer and editor, music player, TV, wallet, calculator, bar code reader and the
list goes on.




Needless to say, mobile phone has become the uber device when it comes to networking and
staying connected anywhere anytime. Mobile phones help you stay closer to your family, enable
you to contact for help instantly, catch up with your friends, schedule a meeting, and even inform
your family when you are stuck in traffic coming back home. Mobile phones provide us security;
security to “watch over” and the security to “be watched over” by the people who are close to us.

Earlier the mobile phones were not that reliable but now you can enjoy high quality reception even
in the basement of your house with no interruptions whatsoever. Unless you use an iPhone 4 and
you
hold
it
not
in
the
proper
way.
The
on-going
competition
in
the
mobile
world
is
pressing
companies for continual and rapid advancements and they introduce newer technology each day.
There
is
nothing
that
you
can’t
do
with
your
mobile
phone.
Or,

almost
nothing.
You
use
your
mobile
phone
to
talk,
to
play,
to
calculate
and
to
exchange
information.
You
even
use
it
as
a
remote control to
monitor and control equipment at a remote location. Well,
mobile phones are
able to support so many features at a small price. And now the mobile phones are dirt cheap so
even a pauper would be able to afford a mobile phone.
Mobiles phone has indeed become “a dominant device for
CCC (Communication, Computing and
Content).”





Here is my concern. Human inventions have often endangered the life of an ordinary man.
Many
of
us
have
become
increasingly
dependent
on
machines,
computers,
internet
and
now
mobile phones.

Is mobile phone a convenience or a necessity?
For
me,
mobile
phone
is
definitely
a
convenience
turned
necessity.
I
would
think
I
could
live
without
a
cell
phone
for
a
day
but
giving
it
up
altogether
is
hardly
possible.
Unless,
I
go
in
mountains and become a monk.
