because of, due to , on account of , owing to , thanks to , as a result of ,
because of
what
Sampras is likely to miss the US Open because of his back injury.
Because of my bad leg ,I couldn’t walk so fast as the others.
Because of his wife’s being there, I
said nothing about it.
(
接
-ing
)
He realized that she was crying because of what he had said.
(
接
what
从句
)
It is all because of what you said.
(
接
what
从句
)
二、
due to
due to
due to
His illness is due to bad food.
Accidents due to driving at high speed were very common that weekend.
Joe
’
s application to the University was not accepted due to his failing English.
Due to
”
means
Incorrect:
The game was postponed due to rain.
Correct:
The game was postponed because of rain.
Correct:
The game's postponement was due to rain.
due to
caused by
due to
Our grateful thanks are due to you.
on account of
It means: because of something else, especially a problem or difficulty
She was told to wear flat shoes, on account of her back problem.
四、
owing to
