四级模拟题第一套试题参考答案

Part One Writing
As is shown in the picture, when the teacher assigns her student to read a literature book, she
tells him to think of it as a long text-message. It reminds me of the importance of reading literature
while most people are spending much more time reading text-messages than literary works.
As it is, reading literature is important in that it can not only broaden our horizon but also
enrich our mind. To be specific, reading classic works is a real eye- opener, from
which we can
acquire
knowledge
of
different
historical
events
and
cultural
er,
the
moraloutlooks and views of life revealed in great works offer great nourishment and contribute to
our growth and wisdom. Take myself as an example. Whenever I’m confronted with obstacles, I
will
reflect
on
the
books
I’ve
read,
imagining
what
the
heroes
would
do
if
they
were
in
my
situation. Then normally I will get the power and overcome my difficulties.
All in all, reading literature regularly as one does text-messages is critical to a more colorful
and wiser life.

Conversation One
W: Are you all ready for Christmas?
M: No, I haven't even started. I've done zero shopping.
W: Well, you'd better get going. Christmas is only a week away.
M: I have to tell you that I'm one of those people who really get stressed out by the Christmas

rush.
W: Oh, I'm not. I love the holidays. I love the crowds, the shopping, the holidays, the music, the

food, the parties, and all the presents.
M: That's just the beginning. My wife always spends too much money on Christmas. That takes
me till April to pay off all our Christmas bills.
W: Don't be a miser about it. Think about yourkids. Didn't you use to love Christmas whenyou

were a kid?
M: I guess so. I don't remember.
W: I know you did. You know, maybe Christmas is for kids, but you can still enjoy it throughthe

eyes of your children.
M: Well, kids enjoy it because they don't have to do all the shopping and pay all the bills.
W: Maybe that's true. But you know as well as I do; that Christmas is more than shopping and
trees. It's about what's in your heart and how you can make others happy.
M: You're right. You're absolutely right. I'm going to try harder to be nice to people and try tokeep

the true spirit of Christmas in my heart.
W: I'm glad to hear it.

8. What does the woman try to do in the conversation?
