In

poverty- related

problems,

I

feel

that

all

kinds

of

help

should

be

encouraged and respected.

Giving a helping hand to those who are in need in the local community seems reasonable. It is because even in the richest

countries, there are still a lot of people, such as disabled people and orphanages, suffering from famine and extreme poverty.

For this reason, it is easy and convenient for us to help our fellow citizens, such as donating food or clothing to them, so that

we can see the result of our actions immediately. By contrast, it is rather difficult to track expenditure of international aids,

which might result in corruption in some cases.

Those

who

donate

money

to

domestic

and

international

charities

believe

that

the

collection

of

money

has

a

tremendous

effect

on

the

poor

countries

with

other

of

help.

This

is

because

few

people

are

able

to

donate

a

large

amount of money to construct schools, hospitals and roads in poor areas. Instead, governments and charities can

achieve

this. International aids can also purchase vaccines which are available in developed countries by using the money raised

worldwide and save millions children

s life.

In my view, minor proportion of donated money and other sorts of help should be appreciated equally as long as the money

reaches to those who need it desperately. The government could run campaign and encourage door-to door help. At the same

time, charitable organizations should make every penny count for donors.(word count

Travelling

abroad

has

nowadays.

However,

complaints

about

the

potential

negative

effects

of

international travel have been sparked among the public in recent years. This essay will outline two main reasons for these

complaints and provide certain measures to change the opinion.

First

of

all,

it

is

a

widespread

phenomenon

that

foreign

travellers

might

repel

the

local

community

because

of

their

inappropriate

languages

and

behaviour

in

some

resorts.

Due

to

the

cultural

differences,

visitors

behavior

may

break

traditional rules in travel destinations sometimes. For example, a visitor will annoy an Indian when he passes food by his

left hand. For this reason, the local government can take actions to provide more specific travelling tips in popular scene

spots for foreign travellers.

In addition, more and more transnational travels will cause damage to the unique nature of a culture. Foreign visitors will

bring not only tangible matters like food and clothes but also something intangible, such as their festivals or customs. In

other words, these visitors are assimilating their country

s culture while they are travelling abroad, which will be bound to

cause antipathy in racist society. Germany is a case in point. For this reason, the government can encourage locals to hold a

tolerant attitude toward foreign arrivals as they have no common knowledge of local conventions in most times. Travelling

is for cultural communication instead of invasion.

In

conclusion,

breaking

conventions

and

cultural

uniqueness

are

the

two

main

factors

leading

to

the

bias

regarding

international tourism. Both governments and individuals should make an effort to change this phenomenon.

To improve the quality of education, people think that we should encourage our students

题目

to evaluate and criticise their teachers. Others believe that it will result in a loss of respect

and discipline in the classroom. Discuss both views and give your own opinion.

话题

Nowadays, whether evaluating and criticising teachers should be supported in the classroom has become a controversial

issue. From my perspective, evaluation and criticism of teachers are necessary for the improvement of education if they are

objective and reasonable.

On the one hand, proposing changes to teachers

lesson content contributes to the improvement of teaching quality. Usually,

it

is

difficult

for

teachers

to

realise

the

mistakes

and

slips

in

their

teaching

unless

students

remind

them.

Additionally,

teachers may not clearly know what students have known and want to know when planning their lessons. If students can put

forward their ideas and suggestions towards the lesson, it will be of great help for teachers to upgrade the teaching projects.

Moreover, trying to evaluate teachers

lesson is particularly beneficial for students

academic and career development in

the future. The modern education emphasises criticism and innovation. Undoubtedly, it is an effective way for students to

debate or discuss with teachers.

On the other hand, the disruptive students will probably disturb the class and negatively affect both teaching and learning

outcomes. When students voice their opinions in the classroom, it will be hard to maintain the order and discipline and the

teachers may feel disrespected. Also, students will suffer a loss in terms of knowledge and other learning content. This is

because teachers always devote much to delivering knowledge and explaining theories. If they are disrupted, the teaching

plan may not be able to be fulfilled. As a result, both teachers and students have to face a loss in the quality of education.

To sum up, it can be recommended that students evaluate and criticise teachers in the classroom on the premise that they

have

decent

manners

without

disturbing

the

learning

atmosphere.

Only

in

this

way

will

teachers

and

students

achieve

a

win-win outcome in education.

Traditionally,

educators

and

value

education

is

considered

as

a

kind

of

virtue

of

the

students,

however,

many

educationalists currently encourage learners to evaluate and criticize their teachers. This essay aims to prove that students

should be allowed and motivated to comment on their teachers

performance.

Indeed, it is commendable for students to make comments on their teachers

performance. Firstly, it will exert a beneficial

influence on enhancing the quality of teaching by eliminating those less competent and less popular teachers. Meanwhile,

the encouragement from students will greatly conduce to teachers

passion. Hence, the desire to gain the praise of students

could stimulate teachers

motivation to excel professionally. Secondly, it is easy for teachers to timely receive students

feedback so that they could adjust and optimize their teaching methods. Lastly, it can perfect the quality of education and

pave a new way for achieving equality between teachers and students.

Although the practice of evaluation of teachers is embraced by many people, still others remain suspicious of it merits. First,

students may be not mature enough to make sound judgment upon their teachers

academic performance. Conversely, some

negative comments might be randomly made only because teachers

hairstyle, appearance or clothes are not their favorite.

Further, some students are more likely to make irresponsible comments on their teachers simply because they are blamed by

their

teachers,

therefore,

teachers

There is no doubt that modern technology has caused a variety of environmental issues, both in cities and towns. Ironically,

I feel that technology can address some of these problems but at the same time, personal effort is a must.

Theoretically, addressing some environmental issues by adopting simple lifestyles is

of

Therefore,

some people feel that the changes in our lifestyles can reverse this worrying trend. For example, the growing number of

vehicles on the road emits a large quantity of green house gases, such as carbon dioxide, which will worsen the air quality.

works

to

safeguard

our

surroundings

via

high-tech.

First,

efforts should be made to explore and popularize new environmentally friendly energy sources to substitute those highly

polluted fossil fuels. To illustrate, it is highly recommended to produce and popularize low-carbon and eco-friendly vehicles

aiming to reduce contamination caused by the emission of exhaust gas. The use of fuel- cell-driven cars will pose less threat

to the environment. Also, natural resources such as solar energy, sea energy, wind energy and tidal power could and should

be applied to our normal life and production. Eventually, the effective recycle of resources could be realized if we can rely

on the high-tech to classify and handle various rubbishes.

Yet,

in

addition

to

relying

on

high- tech,

it

is

still

feasible

to

call

on

people

to

live

a

simple

and

eco-friendly

life.

First,

environmental pollution will be eased if less high-tech products are utilized in our life. For example, the public should be

advocated to avoid driving private cars and take public transit, in this sense, it will diminish the waste of natural resources

and

minimize

the

use

of

fossil

fuels.

Further,

people

s

environmental

protection

awareness

should

be

strengthened. To

foster

water-wise

lifestyle,

to

economize

electricity

and

to

diminish

the

use

of

plastic

bags

could

all

serve

as

perfect

examples. Last, people can also be encouraged to visit the beautiful places that are close to home, rather than traveling for

long distance on holidays.

Overall, I re-affirm my conviction that both living a simple life and relying on high-tech could play an indispensable part in

the process of environmental preservation. Therefore, the combination of both methods is highly recommended.

In some countries, more and more adults are continuing to live with their parents even after they have

Nowadays, an increasing number of adults choose to live with their parents after finishing their academic tasks and finding

jobs.

The

overall

effect

of

this

phenomenon

is

negative,

although

the

younger

generation

can

get

much

help

from

their

parents.

It is widely acknowledged that living with parents contributes to relieve young adults

strains and stresses. They bear great

pressure from their work and study, and are not willing to adapt to an independent life. The parents, especially the retired

adults, are always ready to

prepare everything for their children, helping them to concentrate on their work. In addition,

young

people

can

learn

much

experience

from

their

parents

who

are

more

experienced

in

dealing

with

interpersonal

relationships and career development. As a new comer in the working arena, the young generation are too na?

ve to manage

their various challenges. Undoubtedly, it is of great value for them to live with their parents.

On the other hand, continuing to live with parents will unavoidably cause some conflicts. Growing up in two different times,

the views and lifestyles between these two generations are less likely to be the same. With the passage of time, the family

bond will be alienated. What

s worse, if the adults lead a life with parents for a long time, they are particularly likely to

have a sentimental attachment to their parents excessively. It will be increasingly difficult for them to start a new life when

their parents cannot provide help any longer. It is detrimental for forming a new family in the future.

When

considering

the

effects

of

living

with

parents

on

young

generation,

we

can

conclude

that

this

lifestyle

is

not

universally suitable for every individual. As to most young people, they had better to live independently in order to keep a

harmonious relation with parents and a balance between work and life.
