题目:
9 Some people prefer to live in a small
town,Others prefer to live in a big city.
Whi
ch place wouldyou prefer to live in?
Use specific reasons anddetails to support
yo
ur answer.
范文:
I grew up in
a small town and then moved to abig city, so I
have experie
nced the good and badsides
of both. I never thought that I would like
li
vingin a big city, but I was wrong.
After ten years ofliving in one, I
can
’
t imagine ever living in
a smalltown again.
Small towns and big
cities both ha
ve some problems in terms
of transportation. In a smalltown, you have to own
a c
ar to ensure a comfortable living
.you can
’
t get around
without onebecause there
isn
’
t any kind of public
transportation. Big cities generally have heavy
traffic andexpe
nsive parking, but there
you have a choice of taking public transportation.
It
’
s not free,but
it
’
1
s often cheaper than driving when you
consider gas and time, especially if you
do
n
’
t havea car,
you
’
re better off in the
city.
I love the excitement
of big cities. Small towns have a slow pace. Large
c
ities mean you haveto adapt to a
variety of situations, like finding a
new
route to work or trvine a new
restaurant.I enjoy that challenge very
mu
ch. Another part of the excitement of
city living is the variety ofcultural
activities available. There is a wild
assortment of theatre music and
danc
eperformances available in big
cities. These things are rare in small
ones
.
The final thing I think
about large cities is the diversity of the people.
the United S
tates ismade up of people
of different races, religions, abilities, and
interests. How
ever, you seldom findsuch
a variety of people in a small town. I think that
living in
an area where everyone was
justlike me would quickly become
boring.
Of course, security
is a concern, and that one area where small towns
ar
e superior to bigcities.
Still, I would rather be a bit more
cautions and live a large city than to
fe
el secure butbored.

考研作文范文:如何看宠物和
人关系

题目:
Many people have a close relationship
with their pets. These people treat
their birds, cats, or other animals as
members of their family. In your
opinion, are such relationships good?
Why or why not? Use specific
reasons
and examples to support your answer.
范文:
I think being
very close to a pet can be both a positive and a
negative
thing. Health professionals
have concluded that having a pet is very
healthy for everyone. People who have
heart disease or similar health
problems are often urged to get a pet
because it can lower your blood
pressure. However, some people get
anxious about their pets. If you
always
worry about the pet getting lost or not getting
the right food to
eat, then that
isn
’
t healthy for you
.
3
Many pets are very loving and
it
’
s easy to love them back.
Some people,
though, go overboard. They
treat their pets like one of the family.
Sometimes they even set a place for
them at the table or give them their
own rooms in the house. They treat them
as if they were children. Some
pets
are, in fact, substitutes for children. People
need to keep their
perspective about
their pets. Dressing a pet up in clothes like a
child is
not emotionally healthy. Pets
are animals and get confused if you expect
them to act like human
beings.
There are now stores
devoted entirely to pets. They sell pet food, pet
toys, pet clothes, pet homes. Pets
should be given appropriate food, and
they should have a few toys, since they
need some enjoyment just like
humans
do. However, some pet owners spend hundreds of
dollars on
supplies for their pets.
There are children in the world who
don
’
t have
clothes or food or toys. It would be
better to give some of that money to
charity.
Feeling
close to your pet can be very satisfying and
healthy, as long as
you
don
’
t overdo it.

Dear friends,
On
behalf of the Students
’
Union, I am writing to extend my warm
welcome to all the international
students that are coming to our
university. I firmly believe that your
entering our university will bring us
new ideas from different cultures and
promote
communication.
Also, we have some suggestions before
you come to our university. As
you all
know, we have a great much free time in college
and the teachers
don
’
t oversee us
strictly. Therefore, it is recommended that you
can
arrange your time properly and
avoid being indulged in computer
games,
etc. Moreover, in order to make yourselves quickly
adjusted to
our campus life, it would
be of great help if you can learn Chinese as well
as you can. Last but not the least, it
is necessary to take part in some
activities so that you can improve your
communication abilities and
expand
horizon.
We are looking
forward to seeing you soon and wish everything
goes
well.

Yours sincerely
Li Ming

Some famous
athletes and entertainers earn millions of dollars
every
year. Do you think these people
deserve such high salaries? Use specific
reasons and examples to support your
opinion.
范文:
Some athletes and entertainers earn
millions of dollars annually. In
contrast, an elementary school teacher,
on average, probably makes less
than
$$35,000 a year. I think the fact that this
difference is commonplaces
is a sign of
our society
’
s misplaced
values. It shows that we put more
importance on entertaining our children
than on educating them. It
seems that
the careers that are the least values in our
society often are
those that are the
most important.
