Emerging from
the cartoon is an eye-catching scene that a mass
ofgraduates are at a
critical turning
point on the way to the future. A varietyof
choices, such as finding a job,
going
further education or abroad, and doingpioneering
work, lie in front of them.
The
implication echoed by this cartoon can
besummarized as a philosophic topic in our
daily life
:
the
success of a man is directly related to thechoice
made by himself. Nevertheless,
I
cherish a belief that we can not tellwhether the
selection is good or not, and as long as we
adhere to our decisionsuccess will be
realized step by step. Although making choice is
essential tohelp determine the
direction of our way, judged from the personal
aspect,
persistencefunctions as an
indispensable driving force to keep up our spirit
and to assistus to
fulfill our study
and work. However, some people, pacing up and
down, are not industrious
and tryto
find a short-cut success. In fact, only those who
are hard-working and braveenough
to
encounter obstacles of all sorts are most likely
to reach the summitof success.
It
occurs to many that the most fundamental thing to
success is making agood choice.
But I
recommend that graduates as well as all the
citizens shouldstruggle to make their
choice be a reality.

Union to

Part B
1) describe the

and
3) give your
comments
A:
Dear friends,
I am very glad to hear that you would
come to our school. Firstly I will extend to you
our
warmest welcome, and we are looking
forward to the common learning.
Before you come here, I will try to
make some useful suggestions for you. First of
all, it is
better to learn Chinese well
as soon as possible. Perhaps it’s not easy to
master a language in
a short time, but
it is very important in your daily life. Secondly,
it is necessary to know some
cultural
differences between two countries. Otherwise, you
will meet some unnecessary
troubles.
At last, you should get
to know the weather and prepare for the cloths in
each season.
We are looking forward to
seeing you soon and wish everything goes well.
Sincerely yours,
Li Ming

A
bottle fell off on the ground, and the wine inside
spilt out. Seeing this event, two men in
the picture react in completely
different ways. One is sighing for the loss of the
spilt half of
wine and cried in
desperation that “everything screwed up!”. The
other, in contrast, is smiling
over the
rest half of the wine and is thankful for his good
luck.
“Is the glass half empty or half full?” is a common expression used rhetorically to
determine whether people perceive
events and objects in an optimistic way or a
pessimistic
way. While an optimistic
person always looks on the bright side of life,
the pessimistic person
always focuses
on the negative side and exaggerates the worst
situation. The way you
perceive the
world will determine your way to cope with it. In
face of difficulties, the
optimistic
type, who bears hope in mind, will never flinch
and will summon up courage to find
the
way to conquer the obstacles. The pessimistic
type, on the contrary, tends to give up
quickly and then brood over their own
loss or failure, which in turn will throw their
life in the
vicious circle.
It
is quite obvious that if you want to succeed in a
highly competitive society, all of us
should try to develop an optimistic
perception toward our life no matter how mean it
is. To be
optimistic is not only a
matter of personality, more importantly, it is
matter crucial to the
future of your
life.
