Day Day the Great

Faith

As

we

all

know

that

everyone

has

their

ideal,

which

guides

one’s

life

style

as

well as job career. The great poet even compared ideal to the lamp of road to one’s life.

So

the

important

role

ideal

played

in

our

life

was

significant.

No

one

could

live

without ideal, or he must be a mediocre and tiresome person. However, many people

regard faith as the important role in our life. Does ideal means much more than faith

for us? What faith is on earth? How different does faith from ideal? Maybe you are

confused by the similar mask that ideal and faith wears, but after reading my extended

definition, the answers to these tough and confusing questions would easily solved by

yourself, obviously.

Ideal

is

the

goal

you want

and plan to

achieve in a

certain period of time, the

time could be as short as ten years, or as long as the whole life time. Supposed that,

when you were ten, your ideal was to be a Chinese teacher, may be just because your

father

was

an

excellent

teacher;

when

you

were

twenty,

your

ideal

was

to

be

an

engineer, for you majored machinery during your university or you were interested in

that field; when you were thirty, your ideal was to be a business man, based on your

enormous economic property; when you were forty, your ideal was to live a content

and restful

life with

your beloved family members, since

you have experienced too

much exciting events so that you want to settle down… So the ideal can be changed

up

to

yourself

according

to

every

step

of

your

future

plan.

And

everyone

can

hold

several ideals during his life time in different periods.

Faith

is

a

divine

ideology

that

formed

by

a

long

history

and

existed

for

a

profound

time

in

our

human

mind

for

a

nation.

In

ancient

times

of

China,

our

ancestors believe deity in every field. Our ancestors prayed for good weather for the

crops, hoped wind and rain

come on time, and wished good harvest

in

the autumn,

wanted the prosperous and the people are at peace in every final year. So they held

ceremony

every

year,

like a memorial rite for the Aeolus

and the Thor.

In last half

century of China, people believed in

Chairman

Mao and regarded him

as the saint.

Because he brought liberation for our Chinese whom enslaved by the war. No matter

what he said was right, no matter what he required must be ordered. In some degrees,

this kind of faith was unreasonable and of blind cult of personality. In modern times

of

China,

after

the

founding

of

The

People's

Republic

of

China,

our

people

take

communism,

communist

party

and

socialism

as

the

highest

faith.

The

transform

of

faith from destiny to human ourselves reflects the strong power of Chinese people and

the

nature

development

of

productivity.

Therefore,

the

faith

which

helped

us

overcome the difficult time was cherished by generation after generation.

For individual, faith means much more than ideal. Sometimes, faith is related to

Religious beliefs. In China, the faith of religion inherited the

ancient times’ thoughts.
