My Senior High School and My
Junior High School
When I graduated
from my junior high school,
my teacher told me that I
would enjoy a brand new
life in senior high school, in
which I would learn a lot of
new things. Now I’m a
senior high school student in
the second grade and I’ve
found many similarities
between them.
Firstly, there are
abundant activities in both
of them. We had a sports
meet each year in the junior
high school and had art
festivals. Similarly, here in
senior school, we also have
these kinds of activities
which greatly enrich our life.
I think both experiences I’ve
had and am going through
will surely become a fortune
and shine in my memory
when I grow up and look
back.
What’s more, the pace
of study is both very fast. In
junior high school,
especially before the
entrance examination, we
had to complete piles and
piles of supplmentary
exercises so that we could
get satisfactory marks and
enter a key school. Now in
senior high school, although
the college entrance
examination is far away, we
have to learn a variety of
subjects, which cover a
much wider range than
those in junior high school.
As a result, I also have so
much homework for every
day that I have to stay up
late sometimes. And much
of the homework is really
difficult.
Although there are
many similarities, there are
also many differences
between the two schools.
One of them lies in
learning methods. In the
junior high school, the
learning process can be
completed smoothly if you
have a good memory.
Whereas study in senior
high school involves both
deep comprehension and
memorizing, but the former
proves to be much more
important. So that explains
why many students can deal
with the study in the junior
high school well but just
can’t adapt to the learning
process here in the senior
school.
Another major
difference is about the
classmates around you.
Classmates in the junior
high school are still children
who haven’t grown up yet.
All they talk about is how to
spend their leisure time. By
contrast, high school
students, in some ways, are
already grown- ups. They are
much more concerned about
their studies and their future.
That’s why I think senior
high school greatly broadens
my horizons.
No matter how similar
or different our senior high
school and junior high
school are, life in both
schools reflects different
stages in our life and the
process of growing up. We
should do everything to the
best of our ability.
