一、记叙文
An
Unforgettable Lesson
1.
礼貌的事例
2.
礼貌的作用
3.
你的观点
The story happened when I was
quite young. One day after school, on the way
home, I saw a few
yards
away,
a
young
man
talking
to
an
elderly
lady
very
loudly
and
kind
of
rudely.
As
I
approached them, I found out that the
young man is asking how he could go to a local
store. The
lady was offended and told
him just the opposite direction with reluctance
and contempt. I thought
I would have
told the man again the right direction, but I
didn’t,
for I was angered by his poor
manners, too.
This
example
has
unmistakably
indicated
how
important
it
is
for
one
to
be
polite
and
respectful for both himself
and others. Good manners are an essential quality one must have in
order to be successful in
not merely such a small thing as asking for
directions, but also promoting
his
career. Being respectful and well-mannered, you
can be popular with people around and easily
win their support and favor. And in
this case, you can improve your chance of success
and your
good fortune.
The
lesson
taught
by
the
young
man’s
case
is
typical,
suggestive
and
impressive.
Admittedly,
I
cannot
ensure that I can stay polite and respectful to
anyone at any place at any time. I will try my
best
to
treat
people
with
respect
and
thoughtfulness,
for
only
this
can
make
me
feel
good
and
happy.
二、描写文
An Eye-Witness Account of a Traffic
Accident
If I
recall correctly, the accident occurred on April
6th, 2003. I was on my way to school. It had
been
raining
for
several
days,
so
road
conditions
were
simple
awful.
Also,
it
was
hard
to
see
through
the
rain.
A
boy
on a
bicycle
went
by
very
fast.
He
was
having
a hard
time
keepinghis
balance
because
he was holding an
umbrella in one hand and trying to steer the bike
with the other. As he came to
an
intersection he was hit by a car turning right
from the cross street.
In my opinion,
the boys was partly to blame, because he was going
too fast and the umbrella was
distracting his attention from the
road. The driver of the car was at fault, too,
though. He was at a
red light,
but he went through it without coming
to a full and complete stop. Drivers need to stop
first at
intersections to make sure
there are no pedestrians or cyclists in the way.
Even if cyclists don’t
always ride
safely, drivers have to pay close attention and
try their best not to hit them. A car is
much
bigger
than
a
bicycle,
and
drivers
need
to
learn
that
with
great
power
comes
great
responsibility.

论挫折
Is Frustration a Bad Thing?

.更多的人并不认为挫折是坏事

3
.我的看法
According to The New Oxford Dictionary
of English, frustration, by definition, means the
feeling
of being upset or annoyed,
especially because of inability to change or
achieve something. Since
frustration
seems to be a negative feeling, some people may be
tempted to think that frustration is
bad for people. They believe that
constant frustration may cause serious mental
problems. People
suffering from such
psychological problems often resort to violence or
suicide, which poses a big
threat to
the people around them and thus causes instability
to the whole
Others, however, hold a different view. They maintain that it is beneficial to people. It goes side
by
side
with
success.
It
inspires
people
to
overcome
hardships
and
difficulties
and
achieve
the
final success. People with
this view even go so far as to say that no
frustration, no success. Indeed,
we
cannot always hope to embrace success and never
accept failure. And most importantly, only if
we learn from many a failure can we do
things better and finally overcome such a bad
feeling as
frustration.
Frustration thus is part of our life experience. In our process of growing up, we may inevitably
experience i
t when confronted with situations that don’t come up to our expectations. It is a test of
our courage when it befalls us. If we
let it control us, we may fall into the abyss of
being inflicted
by serious
psychological problems. But if we harness it and
take it as our source of inspiration, we
may ultimately enjoy the glory of
success.

Is Failure a Bad Thing?
1
.有些人认为失败是坏事
2
.更多的人并不认为失败是坏事
wwe
3
.我的看法
Failure
is such a common matter that every one of us may
meet it from time to time.
People
hold
different
views
towardsfailure
in
their
life.
Some
people
are
so
sad
and
frustrated
at
their
unsuccessful
attempts
that
they
will
never
accumulate
the
courage
to
have
another
try.
Other
people view repeated failures as most
natural on the way towards
achievement
—
they will keep on
trying until they succeed in the end.
Personally, the second gro
up of people is to my liking. Just as johnVance Cheney once said, “The
soul would have no
rainbow had the eyes no tears.” If you have only
had wonderful things happen
to
you, how can you become brave? If
you can only embrace success and never accept failure,
how
can
you
become
mature?
Few
persons
can
be
successful
at
the
first
time,
and
failure
sometimes can teach us
much more than success.
We
should not be too much discouraged at failures. On
the contrary, we will brace up and stand up
to the next challenge, because the most
glorious moments are those days when we overcome
the
feeling of despair and rejuvenate
ourselves with hope and aspiration.
