A new technology, DNA test, has
appeared recently as good news for some
people.
All they have to do is to pay 125
pounds, give testers their saliva sample and wait

how much chance they have of getting s

their awareness of keeping fit. However, it may
give rise to unneces

An

第二节 读写任务(共1小题,满分25分)
On the first
day of her work, Sally found that a class full of
problems was
waiting for her. Six teachers had
quit before her. When she walked into the
classroom,
it was chaos; two boys were
fighting in the far corner, yet the rest of the
class seemed
not to notice them; some girls
were chatting and some were running about; paper,
food packages and other garbage were littered
around….Just when she was about to
speak, a
student rushed in and pushed her aside! He was
twenty minutes late!
Sally walked onto the
platform, picked up a piece of chalk and wrote on
the
blackboard: “Rule 1: We are family! “ All
students stopped to look at her. And she
continued with Rule 2, Rule 3… In the
following weeks, Sally worked out 10 class
rules and posted them on the walls of the
classroom. She patiently explained all the
rules to the students and require everyone to
follow them.
Surprisingly, Sally was not
driven out like the former teachers; instead, she
won
respect from the students. Over the year,
she witnessed gradual change in the class. At
the graduation ceremony, just as she expected,
she was very proud to stand with a
class of
care, manners and confidence.

读写任务
Confronted with the misbehavior of her new
class, Sally emphasized the idea of
“we are
family” and afterwards worked out 10 rules to
regulate the students?
conduct. Amazingly, she
earned respect from her students, all of whom
later grew to
be confident, considerate and
well-behaved.
The most obvious problem with
our class is lack of interaction or teamwork.
Ev
eryone is minding his or her own business
without paying the slightest attention to t
he
people around, thus giving rise to inefficiency in
their study and even putting a li
mit to the
play of their potential.
To address the issue
concerned, I would make it a rule that every
Friday a proj
ect of a certain subject should
be assigned by teachers and completed by every
study
group consisting of four students. The
final presentation on the following Monday
will be a result of group work.
From
where I stand, this rule will definitely exert a
profound and far-reaching
effect on students?
academic performance. First and foremost, a
harmonious but co
mpetitive interaction in a
group will help everyone?s learning. Additionally,
we can
combine our skills and knowledge as
well as experiences in solving problems more
e
fficiently. It is for those reasons that I
firmly believe that this rule will promote the
l
earning atmosphere and our teamwork
spirit.
With continuous efforts, our class, a
big family, will compose an extraordinary
harmonious symphony.

Oseola
McCarty spent more than 75 years washing and
ironing other people’s clothes. As a
laundrywoman, she was paid only a few dollars
each time. Certainly nobody would consider her
rich, so they were all amazed when Miss
McCarty decided to donate $$150,000 to the
University of
Southern Mississippi.
The money was in fact her life savings. She could
save such a large amount of money because
she
lived a vey simple life. She never learned to
drive, and when she wanted to go somewhere, she
just walked. She never flew to anywhere till
the donation(捐赠) and in 50 years she had been out
of the South only once. The house in
which she lived was also a rather modest one her
last uncle
left her. Only after she became
known in America did she begin to travel all over
the country.
Since then, she had been the
subject of many interviews and articles and was
even invited to the
White House.
Her
donation was for students who clearly needed
financial herself left school in the

said to the reporters that the idea of
helping
somebody’s child go to college gave her much
pleasure.

Version 1:
Oseola McCarty was a laundrywoman for more
than 75 years. She earned a few dollars
each
time. But she donated $$150,000 which was her life
savings to help the students who needed
financial help.
I think her behavior
is worth praising and very unselfish. Everyone
should help others in
need. But how much to
donate should be based on our actual situation.
The $$150,000 is very
helpful to the students
who have financial problems. They can buy many
things they need as
other students. And they
may be more grateful and kinder. Therefore, it?s
more likely for them to
help others in the
future.
If I am going to give donations, I
will choose students too. They are in the most
important
period in their life. They need to
get a long education. They have to buy a lot of
books,
pencil-cases, pens, erasers and so on,
which will certainly cost a lot. They are growing
up
rapidly, which needs a lot of nutrition. If
they don?t have enough money, they can?t eat
enough
food and take in enough energy. In a
word, money is very important to students.(189

第六节 读写任务
To many people even the word
“work” sounds unpleasant, not necessarily because
they are
lazy. The same man, who dislikes his
job in the factory or even in the office, may work
hard at the
weekend, painting the house or
digging the garden.
What is the reason, then?
In most cases, it is because these people simply
do not enjoy the
job they are doing. It does
not give them any real satisfaction. It may be
quite easy, like making up
wooden boxes, but
it is very boring. Very often they are doing a job
which is just a small part of a
much larger
one, such as attaching a door handle to a car. But
the part they play in actually making
the car
is so small that they can never say: I have made
something!
Yet in modern society somebody has
to do ordinary jobs such as cleaning streets
because this
is the way society is organized.
No matter how ordinary a job is, it plays a part
in society and
therefore deserves our due
respect. Society cannot function a single day
without the “dull and
boring” jobs.
[写作内容]1. 以约30词概括上文的主要内容。
2.
以约120个词谈谈你对平凡工作的想法, 内容包括:
(1)描述清洁工工作的艰辛;
(2)假如没有清洁工,环境会变得如何?
(3)你对平凡的工作的看法。
第一节:基础写作:参考范文
It is reported
that thirty volunteers who are at least 18 years
old will be chosen from all the
globe and sent
to the Mars by the year of 2015. The volunteers
must make a full preparation
that there is
almost no chance to return to the earth once they
are immigrated to the Mars.
What?s more, it is
greatly important for them to try to keep a good
relationship with other
members. Experts
strongly warned that the living conditions on the
Mars are very hard, for not
only the extremely
cold climate would they meet with, but also
loneliness and fear. On the
contrary , the
volunteers insist that they have got tired of the
life on the earth,so greatly being
eager to
experience the unknown , mysterious life on the
Mars; meanwhile, if the would be
succeeded ,
they would get the honor to be heroes of human
beings.
第二节:读写任务
In the passage ,
the author mainly stressed the importance of small
and ordinary work ,
such as cleaning
the street because of their essentiality for the
organization of the society ,and
thinks those
doing such jobs should be respected greatly.
There is no doubt that what a cleaner does is more
harder compared with any other jobs in
the
society. On one hand , they must get up in the
early morning every day to clean the street
while we are sill in the sweet sleeping dreams
. On the other hand, they also suffer from less
respect and lower pay , working all day on the
street no matter it is sun shines strongly or
snow,
wind heavily.
Nobody could
imagine what an bad environment we would live in
if there were no cleaners
in the city.
Wherever we go , there is rubbish. Maybe we would
soon be drowned in the
mountain of rubbish.
Even worse, if there wee no change about that,
diseases would spread at
a very quick speed.
Is there anything that can be worse than this !
From the above , I can draw the conclusion
safely that even the smallest and the most
ordinary job, such as cleaning the street is
also the necessary part to keep the society going
smoothly. Consequently, those who do those
most insignificant jobs should get respect as
much as those being engineers or teachers.

My husband

In the letter she wrote,“You were the

that I would be interested in it. To my surprise,
you magically showed me the
beauty of
math. I guess that was the turning point of my
attitude towards it. Gradually
my interest in
it began to grow. Thanks to your encouragement, I
made continuous
progress in math, and finally
made up my mind to study it in the university.
Today I am
working as an accountant at Valley
Medical Center in California. You played an
important part. Thank you!”

the retired old the letter,the
writer learnt how great influence a teacher might
have over his students.
The encouragement
from a teacher is really of great significance to
hisher student,
especially when the student
has trouble with encouragement can raise his
confidence and inspire his motivation to work
hard. When I was in middle school, I had
some
difficulty in learning English. I couldn

remember the new words, so I always did
poorly
in the English exams. For some time I even decided
to give up learning English.
However,
everything changed when I met Mrs. Jones, my new
English teacher. She
encouraged me to try some
different methods to remember English words, and
when I
made a little progress, she always
praised me, so I worked harder than ever.
Gradually I
became interested in remembering
new words and began to catch up with the other
students in my class. At the end of the term I
got the highest mark in English.
Now I owe all
my progress in English to Mrs. Jones whose
encouragement has made
me achieve what I have
now. Here I want to send my sincere thanks from
heart to her.

Version 1
A book entitled Battle Hymn of
the Tiger Mother by Amy Chua was published in
2010. It tells how the author, a Chinese
American and professor at Yale University,
educated her two daughters in the traditional
Chinese way. Its publication has
started a
debate as to which way of parenting is superior,
the traditional Chinese
way or the American
way. It is reported that the Chinese version of
the book began
to sell in China early 2011.
Unexpectedly, the majority of mothers in China
disagree
with the author though her 17-year-
old elder daughter was lately reported to have
got offers from both Harvard and Yale.

The passage told us that a
student, Sam was sent to a boarding school, in
which he very missed his parents, so he got
sick and could not focus his attention
on his
lessons.
In fact, in real life, everyone
can have an experience of feeling homesick. I
remember when I was 10 years old, because my
parents was busy, I was sent to my
uncle?s in
another city. Here, I studied for two years.
Although my aucle and his
family were kind to
me, I still felt homesick. At first, I couldn?t
sleep well, because I
didn?t adapt to the
climate there. And, because different teachers
have different
teaching methods, it was
difficult for me to understand the lesson.
Besides, I was
new for the students there, I
hardly had friends. I felt very lonely.
As days went on, I slowly adapted to the new
environment. I actively
communicated with my
new students and made friends with them. My
homesick

Jackie is
perhaps the most easily annoyed koala(考拉)at the
Featherdale Wildlife Park in
southern
Australia. All the koalas there are unhappy and
complaining. You would be too
if you were used
to night activities and someone kept waking you up
all day while you
were trying to sleep it off.
That’s right—sleep it off. The average koala is
always half
asleep because it feeds on the
leaves of a special kind that makes it sleepy.
The reason Jackie and her fellow koalas are
repeatedly awoken from their deep sleep is
so
they can be hugged and photographed by
tourists, who make the trips to Featherdale
and
an increasing number of other national parks for
just that special experience.
Whatever
department in the Aussie government in charge of
such things is now moving
to make the practice
illegal, which is understandable. How would you

if you were trying to sleep
off a dozen times and some round, furry creature
smelling of
grass kept waking you?
