Thanks for your topic.
Good morning ladies and gentlemen,
today my topic is to read ten
thousand
books
or
to
travel
ten
thousand
miles.I
choose
to
travel
ten
thousand miles and there are two
reasons.
First of all, we can never
learn innovation from books. Physicists have
claimed that plane cannot fly, but the
Wright Brothers do not believe the
conclusion.
Finally,
they
made
the
first
manned
aircraft.
Also,
the
little
Scotland Ferguson, he
calculated the position of the stars by a string
of
beads instead of studying in the
classroom. Then, he became a famous
astronomer. No books can teach you how
to innovate, you can only learn
it by
yourself.
Secondly,
ladies
and
gentlemen,
as
the
saying
goes,
genuine
knowledge
comes
from
experience,
or
we
can
say
from
the
places
we
have
traveled.
Will
you
become
a
cook
if
you
just
read
some
cookery
books? Do you know how to built a house
after finishing the architecture
study?
No,
we
can
’
t.
We
gained
these
skills
from
our
practice
and
experience
in
our
life
journey.
Many
books
can
be
used
for
reference
because
it
’
s many people
’
s wisdom, but life is not a book and the writer
cannot write a book which fits your
life completely.
As all I have said
above, I can draw a conclusion that the source of
knowledge is not exclusively from the
books but the priceless thousands
of
miles one has gone through.
