There are many advantages of smiling. It can not only make us
happy, but also please others. If we smile at life, life will smile on us in return.
So I want to smile at all whenever and wherever possible,
First, I would like to smile at my parents because they have given me life
and take all the trouble to bring me up. They arrange almost everything for me.
With their help, I have made great progress. I would like to say “Thank you”
to them with a smile. Then my smile should go to myself, for only in this way
can I gain more confidence in smiling my troubles away and live a better life.
In a word, let’s greet every day with a smile. Tomorrow is another

Firstly, an effective way, I think, is to reserve water in a scientific way for future use.
Secondly, new methods need to be developed to use the existing water resources, for
example, turning sea water into fresh water. Thirdly, we must stop water pollution by law.
Last but not least, it’s everyone’s responsibility to make good use of water, such as
recycling and saving water in our daily life.
In conclusion, people around the world should be aware of the real situation of water
shortage, protect the present water resources and explore potential ones scientifically.

library. There is also a newly-built standard playground. In the new environment,
teachers and students are living happily and working hard. It is really amazing that the
once-ruined place has now been turned into a beautiful school, full of life.
Obviously, without the help of the whole society, there would be no new school
today. It is love and concern that have brought about the great changes. Many hands
make light work. We can work wonders if we unite as a family, caring for each other
and helping those in need. Union is strength.

was full of freshness and beauty of spring, with the sun shining and birds singing.
When I was enjoying the fantastic scenery around, something unpleasant caught my
eye. A young couple in a boat were eating, talking and laughing loudly as if they were
the only people in the world. What's worse, they spat and even threw rubbish into the
lake, totally ignoring the noticeable sign
Such behavior left me deep in thought. If all visitors to the Fairy Lake Park do as
the couple did, the lake will be severely polluted and soon turned into a huge dustbin.
I think all of us should mind our behavior in public places. Only in this way can we

son , well dressed, waves proudly in the middle while the father behind bends forward
to hold the jacket and the mother in front rolls out the carpet, sweating.
It shows a common phenomenon nowadays that children are the focus of families,
shouldering the hope of their parents. Parents arrange everything for their children
and spare no effort to pave the way for their success. As a consequence, children
become so reliant on their parents that they have no independent thought or creative
ideas.
Such a situation is of great concern. In my opinion, overprotection and too much

This quotation from Winston Churchill tells us that we shouldn't get discouraged
right after failures. Rather, we should keep trying with enthusiasm. Success consists
in the ability to continue efforts through failures.
At the age of twelve, I got a nice bike as a birthday gift. So excited was I that I
couldn't wait to try my hand at riding it. However, it was harder than expected. The
bike seemed too heavy and difficult to control. Worse still, I took many falls off the
bike. I was about to give up when my father came and encouraged me to keep going.
With more practice, I did better and better. Looking back, I feel I wouldn't be able to
ride a bike had I lost heart.
Actually, we can't succeed in everything we try. What's important is that we
